See also my post in ITV Digital from yesterday Shahid. I think if you expect the box to be high spec, you will be disappointed, it will be very basic. I can see that it will be left to others to bring the spec up, as with all of these products, they do not produce for the consumer, they produce for the broadcaster.

The product is aimed at the no-tech end of the market, where whistles and bells are not deemed to be important and all people want is basic TV, but perhaps just a little more of it.

Chances are it will have a CI Slot as well as card interface

Chances are it wont be £99 when released

Chances are it will be full of really nasty faults

Chances are that the release of this box may well help Satcure sell parts kits again

Dear All,

I wrote to Pace's Marketing Department the other day (using my friendly tongue, as always).

I was 'annoyed' at the use of the phrase 'Free-To-View' - like permission was somehow needed for watching DTT FTA (normal) television!

Whatever, the box looks nice enough. Doesn't answer the upgrade question; least of all for non DTT encumbants and will not be understood by saturday-jober's at Dixons: "Ah, the Pace. No. You mean the Pace SKY+ box .....". Er, no.

I, personally, believe that it should not have a card slot/upgrade option AT ALL - that should be left to the 'Providers'; i.e., give me one so that I can pay lots of subscription to you boxes.

Then we could go back to calling the BBC FTA - as indeed it is (Analogue).

Have Fun,

MArk.
