Hi!
I'm about to move into a new flat.
I've got a 1,2 meter motorised Channelmaster dish.
The problem with this flat is, that the only place I can put the dish, is on the top of the roof (it's a flat roof).
Is there any stand for the dish, where I don't have to attach it to a vertical wall?
But where I maybe can place some heavy stuff on the dish stand, so it will stand firmly to the ground?
I've heard about a Tripod mount. Ive’ heard about a Tripod mount. Is that a good solution?
Is there any other solutions than that?
It’s not possible to have a 1,2 meter dish mounted to a wall, is it?

Answers are yes, yes and yes

There are tripods for dishes that are of 1.2m. The CM dish is 3" diameter post ( I think). You will however need to put a latrge amount of weight under it , normal minimum is 140kgs or six kerbstones

May be better to get a platform that allows the ballast (paving slabs or ballast) to be put into it. These are 2m x 2m for the 1.2m and are assembled on site.

Wall mounts are also available but you need a strong wall and at least six anchor bolts.

The dish has to be at least 65 coms out to allow full movement East to West and of course the closer to South facing it is the better

PM me and I will send you some diagrams

Here's a picture of a non-penetrating roof/patio mount.

I can confirm that the channel master 1.2 is a 3" mount.

All attachments seem to be rejected on your e-mail

Too big to send maybe ?

If only I knew how to enable things in my profile I would be a happy man.

Hi Rolf.
Where can I buy the non-penetrating roof/patio mount?
Is it the same as a tripod?
So basically, I just need some heavy stuff (sandsacks or similar) to put on top, right?

If you look at the following link

http://www.prodelin.com/pdf/mt_select.pdf

it shows a range of mounts that are available to suit the smallest to the largest antennas in the UK.

A 3" mount for the roof will be satisfied by the RBMM 16 and 24 block units (page 2), and the 6.5' x 6.5' on the third page covers extreme high wind locations where almost unlimited ballast can be installed.

Wallmounts to suit the 1981 or 1123 series of antennas are on page 1 and stand off enough to allow full movement East to West

They are good, but not cheap
