1,8 Channel Master, Black Pro LNB with CM feedhorn for 28 E which is my main interest when watching TV. VU+ DUO 4K SE, VU+ DUO 2, Octagon SF8008 and Vantage 8000 S and TS receivers. Fixed dishes at: 42 E (0,75 m), 28,2/28,5 E (1,8 m), 19,2 E (1,5 m), 13 E (1,1 m), 9 E (0,7 m), 5 E (1,2 m) and 1 W (0,7 m).

12 304 H is activated again but this time it's much stronger than the previous time this transponder on the UK beam was used.
The level is about the same as the European beams on 2F at my place. Is 12 304 H now transmitted on a European beam?
Lyngsat and Flysat says UK beam on 2F but if so I can't get why the level is so much higher now.
Before the switch off the level was around 8 dB and now it's around 14,5 dB som my absolute conclusion is this is now a European beam.

I'll answer my own question above! 12 304 H must still be on 2F but on a European beam. 2E and 2G are much stronger than 2F even on the EU-beams. 2G is almost extremely powerful at my place.
So strangely enough 2F seems to be able to do 12 304 H both on a the UK beam AND on the EU-beam but not at the same time of course.
Reception of the EU-beams looks like this at my place in the southern parts of Sweden:
2F 14.5-15.5 dB.
2E: 16 dB.
2G: 16-20 dB. Most of the TP:s 19-20 dB but 11 553 H just around 16 dB.

12304H was previously 2E UK (not 2F UK) Now it's 2F Europe.
Difference between 2E (28.5E) / 2F (28.2E) is really easy to see here (3m)

Similar for Madrid (Spain), I sent the theme to flysat the other day when Hendrik fished the channel, he does not see the UK beam.
2F UK ==> 2F Europe
The difference in levels is important.

Not at all unexpected - we have known all along the three birds can all cover for each other. SES couls have a total failure of one of the 28E birds and suffer no great problems. Therefore the transponders must be switchable between beams to a great or lesser extent

Hi folks,

Could somebody outside the British Isles please check 12012V and 12090V (DVB-S2, 8PSK, 27500, 2/3)?

These transponders are carrying the 3 new STV HD regions, which are now FTA. I'd expect the TPs to have switched from the European beam to the UK Spot- has this happened?

Interesting, thanks.

I can't see this situation lasting - either they'll encrypt again or the TPs will switch to the UK spot.

But for the time being, enjoy a strong STV/ITV HD signal!

Dont be surprised if you are looking forward to some big name ITV drama or big football game and you tune in to find STV is actually showing International Haggis Hunting or some other dross - they are notorious for opting out of the ITV schedules, & annoying the viewers with some home made piffle!

Sky have recently re-activated two DVB-S2 transponders that were cleared a few weeks ago.

Could anybody check if the following can be received outside the UK spotbeam footprint?

12168V 27500 8PSK 2/3
12363V 27500 8PSK 2/3

These transponders carry the additional STV HD regions that launched FTA on the European beam last year, before being encrypted. I suspect they may be going FTA if the TPs are now on the UK spot.

Thanks

Thanks - looks like the encrypted STV HD regions will be going FTA.

Southern parts of Sweden in really bad weather (heavy rain) 1,8 m:
12168 V: 8,2 dB
12363 V: 7,8 dB
Seems to be weaker compared with many other TP:s and at the same level as 12129 V and 12382 H.

This has opened a can of worms! My nano M3 sees 12168 at 10db the Zgemma H9s sees nothing.

Some SAT-related hardware.

From all recently mentioned frequencies I have only 2 receivable namely 12168V and 12129V . Do not forget that during the day signal levels can change a lot, especially if we speak about fringe reception areas. The daily changes of signal level can be up to 2dB.
