Hi All

Another newbie question from me!

I want to mount a 1.1m motorised dish on a 2.2m 2" steel pole. I was going to use 4 x 12" t&k brackets to mount this but I have also been told this wll be unsafe and I must use 18" t&k's.

Will 4x12" be ok or do I need 18"? :confused

Thanks

12" will be fine, the 18" brackets have a slightly wider back fixing, but the steel guage is the same, so the 12" will actually be more sturdy, having not so much standoff. :)

as long as your dish is above the top of the wall 12 in t & k brackets will be fine
but if the dish is lower than the top of the wall its going on you wont get much movement in your dish as the sides of the dish will hit the wall when you move it from side to side
then yes the bigger t & k bracket the more movement you will get from your dish

Not an issue aba, as the dish will be above the roof line.:)

We look forward to the progress reports.:)

When mounting the brackets, mount the top one first and use a plumbline (string and weight) to mount the bottom bracket, the middle ones can be added once the mast is straight. :)

They are designed for placing the T at the top, as it only offers lateral support, the K is designed to take the weight, if you are using two sets, then use a T, then K, then T, then K. :)

P.S. forgot to mention dont for get to use a good size rawl bolts for fasterning your t & k brackets to to wall
my self i use the ones with a steel sleeve for larger dishes with motors
the ones with the plastic wall plugs that sky use are all right for very small dishes but carnt recomend them for larger dishes

They do, but the price can vary as can the quality!

If you can wait until tomorrow, I recommend TLC Direct, decent price and quality click here for thier brackets section they do next day delivery, or you may find that there is one located near you where you could collect.

You will also find their M10 Rawbolt to be most substantial... although it needs a 16mm hole in your wall to take it!

What size drill do you use to make holes for the normal satellite fitting plus/bolts most suppliers sell?
