Hello everyone,

What is the range of the 1224 motor? I have just installed mine and using the vbox is doesnt appear to move more than around 25 degress east or west before the "err" on the vbox.

Look at the mechanical limits, it should have a 180 degree azimuth range.

No........ do they need to be "altered" to reach the maximum?

Thanks, but the instructions I received we're rather lacking to say the least - either that or they were not designed to be read by complete newbies :)

Just reading the instructions

THe H-H mount has factory preset mechanical limits for protection

I will open it up and check this in the morning, getting a bit dark now :)

hello again :)

What I've noticed on the vbox is that the range displayed is between 0 and 1000 - when infact is should be 0 and 2000 (displayed with a dot index) however mine only goes from 0 to 1000 before the ER2. When I set it to around ~550 I pick up Thor (which is central south) but then it only counts 500 points either west or east of that and goes no where near as far as even 30 west/east. I would have thought it would be displaying near the zero mark for Thor and then travel between -1000 and +1000.

I've tried to reset the vbox and also the limit settings but it makes no difference I only get a 1000 range.

Anyone have any ideas?

Although only displaying 999 the 'V box' does keep track of greater counts, (well both mine do anyway). :)

The 1224 gives around 25 counts per deg.

Starting from 000

1W counts down to 980 on the display

39E counts down to 024 on display

45E counts down and rolls over to give 888 on display

30W counts up to 666 on display.

Any help :)

thanks for that - its what i thought - yours travels through 2000 counts with thor being at roughly 1000 moving 1000 both east and west of that.

Mine on the other hand has thor at around 520 and only goes to 0 and 1000. Half the range......... - and only moves the dish half the range. anyone else ever had ths problem

Mine moves more than +- 1000 :)

My E limit is set at 500, that is 1500 counts eastward

The wall limits me on the W side, but I know from previous experience that it will do just the same westward.

Not in a position to try it, but I am sure it will do +- 2000 counts, maybe even +- 3000

Just got my spare 'Vbox' out and coupled to a spare Fibo motor, seems to be OK up to 3000 counts in both directions. Repositions the motor OK. :)

Thanks for that - I appear to have fixed it - vbox just needed a reset (i thought i had done this countless times last week but after doing it again seems to have worked). Box now displays 0 at start and then revolves between -1000 and +1000 which takes the dish a nice 180 ish degrees.

One question I have is that when it is set to 0 and it is facing due south - I insert my usals for my region and then on the receiver (TM9100) I say go to Thor 1W. I expect the vbox to send a few pules to the dish and for it to move a few degrees ... but no, the vbox starts to count all the way west and keeps going until i manually stop it somewhere around 50W. Why does it now know how many degrees off due south it needs to move?

The V-Box is not USALS compatible as far as I know, so won't work, you will have to stick with DiseqC 1.2.
