Whilst browsing, I found advertised the following 2.7m offset dish which seem's to me a fair price compared with the Channel Master @ 1.8K GBP even though it's actually a 2.4m dish!

I have no connection with this company and have only posted this for the interest of others experiencing the lack of signal on 2D.O-grab

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Looks identical to the reflector used in the Prodelin 1251

Not a bad price, however its classed as a 2.4m and the original design was for use at C band. You may find the Ku band gain specified is at a high frequency, to boost the efficiency

Additionally the contact details for Hollstar are exactly the same as the Sat-Kurier magazine in the UK

(5 Boundary Lane, Congleton, Cheshire)

so the need to sell goes beyond magazine subscriptions

CH, take your point on the dish size, it's 2.44 x 2.63.

So they take the longest part and add a bit to get 2.7:rolleyes:

The true diameter of an offset dish is the root of the area

Basically the satellite thatis being targetted will see less of the vertical part of the dish (as its coming in at a slant) Additionally the feed will also see less oblong and more circle so the average is more like the width

You will see that most 90cm dishes are more in one diameter, making the submission of specificatons useless when questioning the council once youve been reported

Not surprising - demand will probably outstrip supply anyway

Without a difinitive halt on footprint movement though , everyone is still taking a risk
