Ive spent a very cold morning zip tying a spare lnb onto my 21.5E dish and Ive managed to get some excellent signals off 26E Badr 4!

Im even getting strong signals off the MBC transponder - Im getting 65% on this one on the F3 I might be able to push it a bit higher when it warms up a bit and Im more inclined to stand outside tinkering. Its very overcast as well which wont be helping the signal.

Should this not be in the Fridge Section, then, not Fringe? :-bigsmile

:D

The FSS beam stuff is pretty weak on this setup, but I can live with that - theres not much of interest on FSS anyway. The only FSS frequencies Im getting any signal off are:

12523H 27500 3/4
12605V 1480 5/6 (DVB-S2 QPSK)
12682H 2960 3/4

Nothing of course off the Badr 5 or 6 birds - the coverage areas are just too far south of here.

Nice result up there! Is that on a tyre mounted 80cm dish?

No - this one is set up properly (well as properly as any of my kit ever is!!)

1m Orbital dish with 21.5E the main focus.

Offsets for 16E & 26E

A remarkable number of sports channels transmitted in the clear on Badr 4!

The Moroccan mux on 12683V 27500 3/4 has now just about appeared. Its scanned the channels in although the strength is poor and there is lots of pixellisation.

Now the only major frequency Im missing from Badr 4 is 11977 & I have to wonder if its getting blatted by summat on an adjacent slot.

No problem at all on 11977V now - Id put the symbol rate in as 27500 instead of 30000! :-lmao

And thats the Saudi Sports SD channels. Coming in at 65% atm

The HD versions on 12149H are borderline at about 45%

I need to adjust or change the lnb - its at a very strange angle, but that gave the best results!

7W is behind trees here Martin. No chance of that one at all.

Much of the weaker 26E stuff disappeared as soon as it started raining last night. But I dont care about that.

Badr has seen some better days; the loss of channels 5, 6, and 7 for Dubai Sports, some Al Kass channels turning MPEG 4 and, most of all, fewer interesting live events...

Not to be outdone, I have to report a "first" for me on 26E >>>> When I first installed my 80cm motorised rig some years ago, getting even a sniff of 26E as it was then was impossible.

But just now I have actually managed to get 11958 H 27500.

It's marginal, but it's there!

Nowt else from BADR4, though.

I expect the Black Ultra has helped.

That will be an interesting experiment... I get bursts of up to 2.9dB on 11747V and a steady 1.8dB on 11766H on my 1.2m Fibo...

I think JOHN896 was getting this on his 2.4m Channel Master in South Wales with a decent signal - was trying to search his posts but I get "Search limited from 29-April 12" when doing so.... so can't check for certain.

I actually get an awful lot from 26E here. At this time, the MBC transponder has been as strong as 75% on my TM-5200 last night! A 1m dish would be better at rejecting interference from the adjacent 23.5E/28.2E slots of course though.
