I want to share my experience with this satellite.
For me Badr 4 is an easy catch. Even with my 60 cm dish I was able to pull in about 207 channels (excluding the DVB-S2 transponders and those with SR different from 22000, 25000 and 27500)
Obviously no MBC channels.

With my actual 80 cm dish I am able to watch the MBCs 24/7.
Watching the channels and checking the level of the signal, it was surprising to see that even during the rain the signal remained stable.

Yes, they are still available there.

Looking at the footprint, seems that this satellite is for expat people in mainland Europe, as well as for the Arab World.

That transponder is 12683V. Don't know why Pontiend's receiver shows it as 12693V. Maybe the LO is off frequency. My box won't even lock if I use that frequency.
same here Huevos I can only lock it at 12683V

12693v sorted. It looks to be as Tivu says.If you have 12683v scanned you get nothing on 12693v.I did not have 12683v scanned in when I scanned 12893v .You can only scan one or the other.

Not quite right that now that I have 12683v scanned in.If I scan 126983v it replaces 12683v so I still have only one transponder for 26e

Yes, because it is the same TSID. The transponder is on 12683V, I checked it with the Satlook Color HD. Try scanning 12673V with your receiver. That would mean it scans in 10MHz low, as well as 10MHz high. If it won't scan in at 12673V it means the LO is off frequency. If it does scan okay it's just a selectivity thing.

Thank you Huevos.Yes I get them .I deleted 12693v and added 12673v.I got the eight channels ok.Now I have just 12673v in my satellite list. :) The next job is to replace all the others..
I did try the same thing with my Alien2. I deleted all the transponders in the satellite.xml file.and just scanned 12693v I got the same eight channels.
I did save the original xml file so no problem replacing those.

Just been having a close look at the Badr 4 FSS beam. According to the footprint map I shouldnt get anything off it, but I get 3 tps :D

By far and away the strongest id the Kuwaiti mux on 12523H 27500 3/4.

The DVB-S2 freq of 12605V 1480 5/6 just about locks which is a major surprise - that one must be pumping out one hell of a signal further south!

The Moroccan mux on 12683V 27500 3/4 is just about ok as long as its not raining (!)

1m dish, but the 26E lnb is offset as the dish is aligned onto 21.5E :D

So whats that going to be equivalent to - 90/95cm?

That's a heck of a signal in your neck of the woods, AS. Is that on the Triax? Or one of the salvage Orbitals?

That is a good result, always had decent signal here too on 26e.

you could do with a couple of 1.2m dishes and see what else you can receive.
