I'm here in the south of France around the Carcassonne area pushing my luck with a 85cm dish and yesterday seemed to lose all the 2e 2f FTA channels (BBC's ITVs Channel4s ect ect) this wasn't too much of a surprise as it happens from time to time but I've heard other people in the area with 120cm dishes are also experiencing a similar outage. So I'm just wondering if anyone knows any reason for the sudden drop in signal?

Thanks in advance :) and sorry if this question belongs in a different section.

Well the obvious suggestion would be that SES have turned the power down a little. Its happened before after a few weeks service.

Summer low - starts at spring equinox - ends at autumn equinox - roughly, just after sun outage time.

There are various reports cropping up on other forums from folk in SE France regarding loss of 28E channels and substantially lower signal levels.

Yes indeed. Near Orange on my 85cm TD88 only in the very best weather do we get perfect HD channels. The slightest rain and they rapidly disappear.

For the SD channels moderate rain now sees them off when heavy rain was needed before.

I anticipated this and brought a 1m dish down with me. Unfortunately I left the LNB holder on the breakfast room table in the UK. Ho hum...

Can't you get an LNB holder locally (And a large hammer to make it fit!), Paul?

Seems a shame to have to wait until your next visit.

I'm very restricted for space on the rear of the house with a reasonably unrestricted view of the sky otherwise I would put both up and mess around as suggested. As it is I would have to take the TD88 and mount down and put the TK brackets up it their place and I daren't do all that with a good chance of it not working.

Anyway, we leave for the UK on Saturday morning so a) I'm now tight for time and b) only got to suffer another two evenings.

Noticed the FTA channels at 28e had been restored at 4pm and still working currently at 3am.
