Can anyone tell me where do they connect to the pozitioner receivers ? On the back of the Echostar ad 3600ip are 6 connections and i can't find anywhere instruction on how to set a 36v motor up .
Thanks .

I don't know what your 'black box' is, but don't connect it to the Echostar. Only 36V motors or actuators must be terminated on the STB.

For reference -

The positioner terminals of the Echostar are :-

M1, M2 motor connection

M Pulse and Ground to a motor's reed switch

5V to use with an optical feedback if this is used instead of a reed switch

Skew if you use a Polariser with your LNB

Is that a satellite dish motor? Don't cable it to the Echostar unless you are dead certain it is! What does the label say?

M1, M2 of the Echostar go to red and white ( East / West direction of dish depends on which way these wires are connected. Reverse connection if necessary)

It doesn't normally matter which way round the reed wires are terminated. Check if one - maybe green - is earthed to the chassis of the motor. This will go to the Ground connection of the STB. Other reed wire to M Pulse.

It's quite easy, with the Echostar 3600, so I assume it's similar with the 3000 model.
Go into the menu, and press on the tools icon, hammer, then on the first icon, satellite dish symbol, for motorised satellite dish set up, then you set your East West limits, choose which satellite you want to set up from the drop down box and move your dish left or right until you get the strongest signal, Then you just scan the satellite for channels, you might want to skip this part and add them manually later on as you do get a lot of stations and you can quickly fill your allowed number of channels.
It might be wise to read a few threads on this receiver as it was once very popular.
