Generally speaking you only need a 4.2m dish for channels on Astra 2D. (BBC, ITV etc). There are 4 satellites carrying all the UK channels utilising 8 different coverage footprints

There is no indication whatsoever Cyprus will lose Sky or BBC reception anytime soon. Current coverage is safe until at least the current generation of satellites is phased out which will start in 4-5 years.

76 Protaras Avenue.
Coming from the town centre square, past the bus stops on the left you come to a "T" junction, right goes round the one-way system past the EAC offices. Left is Protaras Avenue, so go left. His shop is about 100m along on the right (about halfway to the traffic lights).
Best phone him first, as he is often not in the shop but out installing.
Cheers,
Geoff

Hi everyone,

I have just moved to Cyprus (Pafos area) and have a 3.2m dish installed with a Sky+ box (Pace).

The systems was set up fine for the Freeview channels, but I have just had a brief power outage, and have lost the settings.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Andrew

You obviously live in or around Paralimni ???
This rumour has been doing the rounds for months.
I have a 4.2 (Shared) and its does everything I need.
The local Satellite installers dont wont you to have SKY becuase once its installed thats it in terms or revenue.
If you install the Hotbird / Arabsat deal they often charge to add new keys when TPS changes etc:
If you have the option of getting a 4.2 prime focus dish thengo for it.
And I would recommend ICEMAN fits it for you.
He is in North Cyprus but knows his stuff.
Go into google and type in Cyprus satellite and you will find his site.
He is also a member of this forum. http://www.skycyprus.com/
