Just checked again and got a lock. No idea how viewable it would be though.

@scopus Chris might be able to have a stab at it on his 1.8 CM, he's got the extra bonus of motorised skew as well to fine tune with.
Same here, just below lock, although the S3 sees the transponder on blind scan...

John,

Its an ESPN PowerVu broadcast.

I cant see "gap30" getting this one with his 1.5m Gibertini, he might be joining "The Big Dish Men" sooner than he planned if he wants to get this one in the bag?

Rgds
My result here on 1.8 c.m. offset dish with C band l.n.b. 5-6 degrees off centre .. (very marginal lock)

It seems that this particular signal is definitely outside the scope of a 1.5m dish, no hope for the small dish men.

On my 2.4m I find that I need to put the dielectric plate in the "wrong" way around for this TP. Im really not sure why it works, but it does. Don't forget to rescan once you try it :-) Correct way around no lock for me...

I have a GSky Hellobox hooked up to my 2.4m and works very nicely at the moment.

I have attached below a copy of the table that I posted elsewhere on the forum (gap30's topic). The table covers my recent test results on 40.5W using a 1.5m dish.

I managed to lock this ESPN transponder from 40.5W with a signal level of 9.1 dB on EBS Pro and 71% in dvbdream.

40.5W, PVu Encrypted, Frequency 3980 L, SR21595 (21600)

Equipment:
Precision 2.0m dish, secondary skimmed polo pipe, Titanium single output PLL LNB.

The polo pipe had to have some secondary I/D machining on a lathe to allow the Titanium LNB to fit into it. The original machined I/D of the polo pipe for the Zinwell was too narrow for the Titanium LNB.

Pictures attached below:

I forgot to include the EBS Pro signal analyser screen grab for the 40.5W transponder (3980 L, SR21600) in post 71, now attached below.

Nice result. My TBS is packed away in the loft so no idea what I'd get now but nothing has changed at the dish end.

What's a polo pipe? Is that like an AV comm polariser?

CJ,

Yes, a polo pipe is just my way of describing a polariser barrel with steps in it. There is also a pin pipe which is a polariser barrel with metal rods in it instead of steps, link and picture of pin pipe below.

Is that different to the one we were looking at the other month MB ?.

John,

Its probably a variant on the one we were looking at a few weeks ago. There are a few sellers on the Brazil equivalent of eBay selling pin pipes, some sell the pin pipe on its own, others sell it with an LNB included that the pin pipe looks to be matched to for a correct fit. The pin pipe with LNB are available with options for the LNB frequency range, both 3.4-4.2 GHz and 3.7-4.2 GHz are listed.

Links and pictures below.

@frank-sinatra

Thank you for the link to Usatel Imports. I got confirmation from Bruno at Usatel that they will ship to the UK. If there is enough interest and shipping charges are reasonable I may try to organise a small group buy.

Got lock now and a usable picture on the Hellobox. LNB has been changed to the Titanium Wideband version and a bit of careful tweaking, at leat today has been dry here...
