My result here on 1.8 c.m. offset dish with C band l.n.b. 5-6 degrees off centre .. (very marginal lock)John,
Its an ESPN PowerVu broadcast.
I cant see "gap30" getting this one with his 1.5m Gibertini, he might be joining "The Big Dish Men" sooner than he planned if he wants to get this one in the bag?
Nice result. My TBS is packed away in the loft so no idea what I'd get now but nothing has changed at the dish end.
What's a polo pipe? Is that like an AV comm polariser?
Yes, a polo pipe is just my way of describing a polariser barrel with steps in it. There is also a pin pipe which is a polariser barrel with metal rods in it instead of steps, link and picture of pin pipe below.

Is that different to the one we were looking at the other month MB ?.
Yes... www.mercadolivre.com.br (eBay Brazilian)John,
Its probably a variant on the one we were looking at a few weeks ago. There are a few sellers on the Brazil equivalent of eBay selling pin pipes, some sell the pin pipe on its own, others sell it with an LNB included that the pin pipe looks to be matched to for a correct fit. The pin pipe with LNB are available with options for the LNB frequency range, both 3.4-4.2 GHz and 3.7-4.2 GHz are listed.

I managed to lock this ESPN transponder from 40.5W with a signal level of 9.1 dB on EBS Pro and 71% in dvbdream.
40.5W, PVu Encrypted, Frequency 3980 L, SR21595 (21600)
Precision 2.0m dish, secondary skimmed polo pipe, Titanium single output PLL LNB.
The polo pipe had to have some secondary I/D machining on a lathe to allow the Titanium LNB to fit into it. The original machined I/D of the polo pipe for the Zinwell was too narrow for the Titanium LNB.
