As UK Cbanders will know ..this sat is for the most part practically impossible for us without a dish bigger than 3 mtrs.
but 12 months after I finally got a sniff of Intelsat 11 ..Cholusat returns..
Its weak and lock is not consistant..but do-able on Christina..
There are 2 new low SR channels listed by Costa ...but sadly they are Horizontal ...and again this is a no-no for us in the UK..
at least thats what I find..
Vertical is the only way in ..and that's very limited..
Perhaps if you live further South in the UK ..you might have some success..
Anyway around 12 noon Cholusat is lockable..
here are a few pics

Funnily enough I'm still parked on 40.5W from last night, I'll wade up the garden and remove the plate!

You are almost on the edge of the footprint up there. You're right; further down south it should be doable on a smaller dish.

That's as strong as I've ever seen it (7.7dB SNR) and I notice it now scans in as Canal 36. Also worth mentioning that this used to peak around mid morning and would be well on the way to fading out by this time of the afternoon so will try and rescan it at the weekend. However, I have lost the Dutch radio stations on 4000. I'll leave it BSing and see if anything else locks.

Just recently did a scan on Intelsat 11 for an arc thread that I'm posting elsewhere. Considering almost 200 channels scan in there aren't too many open:

I finally received Intelsat 11 @ 43W.
Have only received 2 x Vertical & 1 Horizontal.
Did not think it would be possible to receive in southern Sweden, in view of the problems you have in England with it.
Both lower elevation and much further north.

Appendix 1 is Vertical
Appendix 2 is Horizontal

3843 H 3600 3/4 locked today with 1.80m

Try again ..
having messed up the post ..
2 scans H and V showing all I can currently receive at this location ..
I guess I'm too far north & west.
No TV currently strong enough just one data transponder in the Vertical scan.
Been a long time since I locked anything from 43W

I just performed a blind scan for free channels on Intelsat 11 and noticed many more open then ever before. 39 channels in the clear and and tp 3827 H 7500 has the strongest signal at 12 db on my Technomate 5402 M3 with my 3m mesh. The average db level is about 10 with several between 7 and 9 db.

Hi Evan, by request ive edited your title, I do hope you don't mind, you do state you have chased this bird for 12 months in your first post, I do know how important it is to mention the chase because I always do :).

No Probs Martin ..
It was very relevant at the time because it was aimed primarily at UK fringe Cbanders..but of course we have a much more international membership now than was the case when the post was first made.
