I currently receive 30w and 58w with no problem but cant for the life of me get any signal on 43W. How low in the sky is the signal for 43w as im now wondering if edge of house roof is blocking the signal. Whats a good frequency to test reception on as I have tried many with nil success

cheers

You could try 12584V SR27500 3/4. If you can receive 58W and 30W your roof edge must have a strange aspect, or I just can't visualise it!
More frequencies for PAS3R can be found here:-

Yeah PAS43 works for me in north Kent and with a good signal on an 85cm dish so 1m should be getting excellent reception. Theres on 3 transponders with channels and the rest are feeds.

Only just seen your posting, but if you have not already sorted it your best bet for a regular signal which is on most of the time is EWTN the religious channel at 12.650 H 30800 7/8 but other than that not much on there now.

DAmhy,
Moved my dish to avoid my roof but 43w is still pretty weak. You still getting it ok with 85cm in Kent. I can get 58W and 3ow booming in but 43w is elusive

What sort of signal are you getting on 58W 11612h 3670 ?
If you can lock Cubavision up on there then you are pretty good on the western side. If not then peak on that one and try again mate.

I didnt have the sat on there anymore, i got out of the phase of trying to have every channel listed, anyway, just for you I had a look and on: 12584V 27500 3/4 I am getting about 31% signal quality, so it's pretty weak but 100% viewable if I paid for any of the channels, these actually used to be free.

Anyway it is working. Unfortunaly for me I had to manually move the dish westward until it found the signal, but it is definately up there.

That's plenty, as the 43W sig is noticably stonger than that. Are you seeing any signal degredation around the transponder frequency you are looking for, on any other satellites ? - I'm thinking local interference here.

48dBw coverage for your area on V & H from that bird. Signal booms in here on 85cm and 1m dishes in Suffolk. Your Cubavision seems to be a tad low on 58W also, have you tried a nudge up/down in elevation.

If you are getting useful signals from 36E then you must be doing something right. I struggle to get 3 or 4 from here on a 125cm dish!. Out of interest is your eastern side (42E) better than the westerly side (58E). If so your dish may not be at exactly 90deg to your motor when at 0. You could always mark with a felt tip pen before adjusting your declination on your dish.

This is an odd one Rossy, may have to try and flatten the arc slightly, but it will be a very delicate adjustment, as there appears to be no available improvement on the extreme birds, 39E and 58W. :)
