Granted I had made some changes to my PC last year ...but Having contacted Frank and got 4T2 working again pre Christmas 2014 ...I was frustrated to find when I tried it yesterday it was no longer working ...
and this time I thought I'd done the job correctly ...
even put the licence on a USB stick to make it transportable ..
This was what I had in the zipped licence ini
[Licence/0]
SN=YF0M-A3AN-P0NT-RML8

KeyInfo=90871C00002D
CreatedAt=20141031
Expires=20150129
InputList=Allow
ModuleList=Deny
[Licence/0/Inputs]
0=0
[Licence/0/Modules]

but it appears it had an expirey date ....
so only valid for about 3 months ?

Anyone else had theirs expire ?

In a desperate attempt to get it going again I used the automatic service and email service to get a new one ..
I later that day received a new serial number and activation code by email ...
these I put in what I thought were the relevant boxes ...but I presume I the had to apply for an actual licence again ...having deleted my old defunct one ..
again I used both the auto service and the email alert service ..on account I'm unsure which one to use ..
Still waiting ..
..and even if I do get one ...
will it once again expire in 3 months..

Does anyone know the correct procedure step by step ?
..and anyone else had one exire yet ?

certainly is a very complex procedure with many chances for error.

I don't have a licence expiry date on mine VS. Odd that you have a fixed period to use it.
The only problem I have is getting the analyser to show multiscreens, just shows one at a time, but that's by the by..

Something to do with the Key Type? Mine's 0, yours is 1.

Just sent this email to Frank ...
Hopefully he still works at ABC ...and may possibly contact and advise via the forum.
>>>>

Sorry to bother you again Frank ..
Looks like the licence I got pre Christmas 2014 has expired ??
Tried to use 4T2 again yesterday to analyse signals from a new russian satellite at 40 E ...but 4T2 refused to function..
digging deeper it appears the licence had possibly expired which I assumed it didn't.
Perhaps I set it up wrong I just dont know..
Did you join our forum ?
If so could you please visit this thread and take a look and possibly advise ?
kind regards

Maybe so Llew ..
As I said this is a mighty complex and convoluted process and the steps are not clear..

Just update StreamReaderEx-BDA and put 4T2=1 to streamreader.ini :) This force your firt DVB-S/S2 device to "TBS 5925" and "enable" XTASI-S2+ license :) I don't know who is 4T2 company, but this is bad practice use freeware engines for commercial software with "strange licenses" like XTASI-S2+ for some commercial customers like RAI :)

Received a new licence this morning by the automated service..
Sadly it is only 3 months again ...so will need to watch this..
CreatedAt=20150505
Expires=20150803

What a pity it's not available to us to purchase for a nominal amount ..
when the licence runs out it's such a PITA to get it going again..
you guys with an expirey date non specified are so lucky ..and should hang on to 'em as long as possible.
cest la vie

Any other ways to view T2MI stuff these days? 4T2 seems to only have paid licenses now... and the interface itself leaves a lot to be desired, anyway...

Someone on Russian forums found a way to watch T2-MI via Enigma2, using SatDreamGr image and some additional drivers. A bit of a faf to set-up, since it requires setting up a new channel list - a la PowerVu and I haven't tried it but it looks promising.

Well, as someone who was a direct member of that team and the project itself, I can tell you that this solution does work but it's completely impractical. It requires the tuner to be deactivated in Enigma2 because Astra SM demands to access it exclusively. Plus it only outputs to stream relay which also means no direct channel scanning in the receiver.
I hope that they will work on a solution like newsparerman's GitHub - newspaperman/t2-mi: This is a commandline T2-MI baseband frame extractor
The idea with this would be to have Enigma2 pre-read the decapsulated TS rather than the whole transponder TS that includes the encapsulated PID with the T2-MI TS, given the correct parameters, especially on manual scan. This way it will download the channels directly like normal ones, exactly as it does now for Multistream. Of course that will take lots of work and lots of extra patching on E2, but I hope it could be possible.

Wow... thanks for that great info. This format does seem to be a pain in the backside to implement.

There's talk about embedding these scripts into images, so we don't have to kick off these scripts manually. Looks promising. I will try it myself at some point.
