Lost signal a few months ago but can't find it now, I can get 13E hotbird so presume everything is ok with system from dish to receiver. It's used to pick up the free French channels

5W is still transmitting but what channels are you trying to view?
Do you have a motorized system?
Can you get all the other satellites?
Try scanning in a few FTA channels:

The free French Channels like France 2, 3, 5, o are Ku Band, so once you've confirmed these are your targets, we'll move this Topic out of the C Band Section :)

And it's one of the strongest satellites so you shouldn't have any trouble receiving it.

As I say I can pick up 13E Hotbird but I am moving dish around by hand & can't pick nothing up for Atlantic

You will need to raise the Elevation by three or four degrees >> 5W is at (or near to) the top of the Arc for you.

Work round the arc one satellite at a time, starting at Hotbird.

So 113E - 9E - 7E - 5E - 1W - 5W

To wet here tonight to try anything, but I did try moving dish up & down at point I think Atlantic is 182.7/25deg. going by my compass & google dish alignment tool think I am in the right direction

It's amongst the strongest Birds up there, so just a matter of careful fine tweaking.

I have had it on a Sky Zone 1 with wildly incorrect skew in the past and now have it on an LNB offset by 18 degrees from my wife's Hotbird dish.

Tivu is saying the signal is so strong that hes using a dish aligned on hotbird 13E, with an extremely offset lnb strapped to this to get 5W.

5W is an incredibly strong signal here in the UK.
