Is it worth motorising a 60cm dish ?

As said before I am new to satellite and don't know much.
I am just looking at getting all the free TV I can get as cheap as possible.

I have got a skystar-2 pci card (DiSEqC compatable) and a 60cm dish.

Would the stab100 motor be ok ?

And what would I expect to recieve from this system.

Astra 28.2-Eurobird-Astra 19.0-Hotbird-13.0 is what I would like to be able to get. Will I get all this ?

Do it !

A 60 cm will 'get' those but it will be more useful in setting up your mount etc until you can get an 80cm (£30 ish if you look) or bigger when you are ready.

have a play, all good experience and you can't buy that. :)

Thanks Lancelot for your suggestions.

Certainly the 60cm will get you a reasonable amount of channels, but the step up to 80 or 90cm will bring more channels and added stability to the existing ones. Both of the dishes you mention are good.

My Satellite Setup
1.2Cm dish, Motorized, TM1500CI+,dragon cam,SS2....
My Location
North england
I set a 60cm (actually 63 or 65?) triax dish motorised.
got astra 28.2, Astra 19.0, hotbird13, Thor2 1w, and Telstar12 15w(very poor signal),
It took me 4 hours (just wanna kill myslf), but anyway, i got those all.

My opinion

it deponds on your location, easy on South. 60cm dish for Astra 28.2,Astra 19.0, Hotbird, should be ok.

if you just wanna these three, you dont have to buy the moto, just a multi-LNb holder (around 5-9 GBP) and a switch.

if u wanna motorised, 80 cm is minimum, and still you need a very good LNB, it saves you a lot of time.

for the dish personally I dont like triax, it is very diffcult if you try adjust lil angle.

the pic below shows hotbird+astra28.2 on the 60 cm dish by Multi-LNB holder.
put one more LNB between you will get Astra19.0

Thanks for the info, looks like you got a nice coverd place for your dish.

The dishes im looking at are

Triax 78cm
http://www.ciao.co.uk/Triax_78_cm_Satellite_Dish__5653567

And

ISS 85cm High Gain Dish
"found no links to it"

The Triax dish looks strong and the LNB Arm also, but the ISS is slightly bigger and with from what ive seen a crappy LNB arm as it just loops around from the back of the dish.
As i plan to morotize the dish at a later date im stuck on what one to pick.

Any more info would be apreciated.
