You obviously hanker for what you don't have. I don't have snow, so I want snow. You don't have channels, so you want channels. Only natural...

Yes, just the FTA stuff at the moment, although the box over there just crashed a few days ago (first it lost BBC 1 on 101 then slowly everything stopped) so it needs a reboot. Mainly use catchup though via an iPad or my Helsinki Sky box while I wait for them to enable FTTC for better upload.

People here get fed up of the snow and moan about it but I always think, but at least it's not raining and it brightens up the short, dark days we have here.

In the winter, I can think nothing better than crispy, white snow outside with a warm fire and soft light going inside.

Yes, I know, I am such a romantic...

A fire, you say? We had one yesterday evening and cooked sausages over it. :p

Yes, and the luxurious thought of having to showel your way out of the house in the morning to get to where you will dig out your deep-frozen car, and spend hours commuting to work on the motorway with, erh, people who believe winter-tyres are just marketing hype...

Winter tyres are a legal requirement in the winter here plus we don't exactly have much traffic so not such an issue in Finland. Anyway, I work from home and keep the car in an underground garage away from snow. ;)

A home worker too.... But if UK actually had a clue on how to handle British weather then it wouldn't be a problem. Most of the Northern Hemisphere seems to manage just fine.

And Timo....where'a our invitation?

Yup. Just like the Swedes. And norwegians to some extent.
But CJ lives in the, ahem, winter-accustomed British Isles...

Accustomed? I don't think it's accustomed to any climate...

[British moan hat on]
If it's too cold, we moan it being cold and everyone freezing their butts off because we can't afford some truly expensive heating. Not to mention that the whole country comes to a standstill with a hint of snow.
If it's mild, it's usually raining, which means half the country is flooded.
It it's too hot, we moan about that too. Can't sleep at night, mozzies etc. Since no-one has air con in their homes here...

Yeah anything under -30C starts to get a bit painful. I think -37C is the coldest I've experienced in Finland.

Funnily enough I did go and help a Russian car stuck in the snow today (not a plane though).
