I assume you're referring to Marcopolo 1&2 in their early DMAC role at 31W?

What on earth has it got to do with this Topic (Advice for complete newbie) anyway? :confused

what im trying to say is i dont think there are any active transponders on the old bsb satellites
Technically, you are correct and there haven't been since the late 90's/early 00's. The two satellites are in rattling around in graveyard orbit over the Pacific at the moment...
