I have not long moved house and was wondering if it was possible to connect an outdoor TV aerial to my Sky HD box using various connectors such as RF Female Socket to F Type Socket or something similar.

The reason for this is because I don't really want to have to pay Sky £50 approximately for a new Sky dish when if I could use an alternative connection method and save myself some money.

Thanks to those who can help me with this :)

sky comes from a satellite so you need a dish, you could try to set one up your self, have a read through the forum on how to.

As purplemarina says you need a dish installed as you need the satellite signals.

Its reasonably easy to install one yourself - it doesnt need to be high up, just somewhere that has a clear line of sight south eastish.

You can't do this for numerous reasons.

Can't see you being able to do this for much cheaper than £50! But good luck, have a look at the neighbours dishes to give you an idea where to point.
