Hi foru,
Personally I don't have a Humax receiver, but I did come across this site that might be of some use:
_http://www.sat-key.org/

http://www.sat-key.org/Click on the Receivers files link in the left hand pane, and then on the Humax link, there you will find a lot of useful files including a how to file.
Hopefully this will open all the channels available.
Merry Christmas

Hi foru,

as I said I don't personally have a Humax receiver, but from what I've read you require some extra software to upload your keybin file, obtainable from:
_http://sat-key.org/forum/download.php?id=739

The rest of this is taken from the guide to how to load your keybin file, as Conax has gone off there should be a new updated file available soon.

Well, let’s start! There are HoT firmware updates (to install them, ToH 3.2 has to be already installed in your 5400-z) and ToH 3.2 firmware’s with HoT embedded ! You can download them into your receiver with the usual way (which I won't describe it here) using Hu15 or Wdn4oak+ (Can be found in our Humax section)!

So you managed so far to install HoT emu in your receiver and you are ready for the next step! After reboot is finished use your 'menu' remote button and follow ToH Config and change 'CAID Preselect ' option to 'EMU-c*rd' ! Now we are ready to send k*ys to Humax k*y buffer! We are going to need SammyHummyEdit (see file download above, as the k*y downloading software) and k*y.bin file (as the file to be downloaded)! Consider k*y.bin file as your funcard 6in1 file but with more features as you will find out later Updated k*y.bin file can be found in our files section! So open SammyHummyEdit and load your latest k*y.bin file! Press Write Data button and wait until the whole downloading procedure is finished! Wait a few seconds and reboot your humax! That’s it , your receiver is now ToH HoT patched and ready to rumble
Remember that a c*rd that returns Irdet ATR should always be placed into receiver’s smartcard slot which you don't have to update it every time k*ys change ! k*y.bin is the file that you have to update whenever is needed 6in1 funcards return irdet ATR in case you didn't know it! I used a Nova Hellas ird2 c*rd and Bulsat ird2 c*rd with absolutely no problems for ATR return! I was able to descramble ird2 from the c*rd and all the HoT supported encryptions, from the emu!!!

In case you decide to download channel settings after there above procedure, your CAID preselect option will return to c*rd ! You have to changed again to EMU-c*rd and probably load k*y.bin again

If I forgot something , feel free to add it in this topic with detailed description so all of our members , experienced or not , will be able to understand it

If you are still experiencing problems it might be best to ask the source of this document, XL at
_http://www.sat-key.org/
If you register at this site, you can PM him and I'm sure he will be happy to help.

Hopefully it is just a case of doing it once and then it all becomes clear.

Best wishes

Hi foru,

FTA simply stands for Free to Air, meaning it's a channel that's not encrypted so any one can view it.
TPS is an encrypted satellite package that is quite often hacked, explanation taken from a web site:
VIACCESS - Used by TPS (Television Par Satellit), French Bouquet which can be found on Hotbird 2 (13 degrees east). Also AB-Sat on the same satellite. I believe rights are owned by France Telecomm as it was developed in their CCETT research centre.

Usually before uploading any new firmware to any equipment, you can make a back up to your computer, in case anything goes wrong, I've not read of anyone experiencing problems, but as I haven't got one of these receivers it might be wise to post a question about it on a Humax board.
There is a lot of support for these receivers from enthusiatic owners, who believe it to be on a par with the dreambox, I'm sure once you learn how to do it you'll enjoy what the Humax can do.
Try some of these sites:

_http://www.sat-key.org/
_http://home.tiscali.nl/humaxdreamsettings/
_http://satellite.stophier.nl/index.php?
Hopefully you'll have it all working for Christmas.
Best wishes
