I always do that with a "Dremel" and a diamond blade.

About reverse scanning , with the CT5000/ Dr HD F17 and SL3K lnb from the US , I use lnb Type OCS .
With LNB Freq setting 20.450 I'll get the correct frequenties listed .
Doeslnb settings OCS 20.450.jpg Crazyscan has that OCS option too ?

OCS is for C Band reception if I understand, so you get the reverse spectrum used in C Band, and you can change the LOF (as I can with my DR HD F15 box). Not available in Crazyscan that I'm aware of. I haven't tried the C band option in Crazyscan, but it's possibly the same as with the Ka Inverto option, where you can't change the LOF. Unless you use the modified versions.

@Llew Try these settings using the latest CS & Streamreader selecting Inverto Ka:
streamreader.ini
Code:
;! Change IF range (default 950-2150MHz)
IFStart=250
IFStop=2500
LNBMid=9500
LNBStk=17000

and in crazyscan.ini
Code:
[LNB]
LNBType=10
LOF1=20318
LOF2=0
LOFSW=0

[Range]
Start=18200
Stop=19200
Step=3
Pol=0

No warranty:eek:
That's doing it nicely Graham, thanks.
Just needed to update CS and Streamreader to use my TDS 6903 with this configuration.

There were a couple of modified versions of Crazyscan v.1.0.2.88 and v.1.0.2.118 that helped Vipersan and myself to use the Ka Band Inverto option in Crazyscan to allow different LOF's to be used when we first started using the SL3 DirecTV LNBf. Vipersan asked Crazycat to do the mod.

Might be mentioned somewhere in this thread - The DirecTV SL3K4NR1-03

In any case, later Crazyscan versions with the latest Streamreader gives this option (see the config file changes mentioned by s-band earlier).

Good results dreamsat. Earlier, I mentioned I use a dielectric plate in the feedhorn of my Inverto to peak up the linear carriers on this satellite. What method if any are you using? And what size dish?

I use a teflon ring with a dielectric plate. My antenna is a CAS 023 (2,20m) from Kathrein. I do not use the engine anymore. That was just an attempt for the Liniare improvement.

OK, thanks. I'm OK with a 1.2 Gibertini at certain times of the day with this mod for Newsnet, the Italian racing feeds OK. Wish I had a larger dish :(

I keep threatening to nudge up to a 1.5 Gibby & transfer the changer onto it but there always seem to be other things that need my piggy bank attention. :)

Not just the cash that limits dish upgrading here John - nowhere to put it on the ground without restricting arc visibility. Replacing the higher-up Gibby 1.2 with anything larger would probably attract unwanted attention by the council suits :(

Know what you mean Llew , i'd be pushing my luck as well substituting the 1.2 for a 1.5 as it's on full view from the road. I have a 1.8 CM doing nothing in the garage, but as yourself, i have not really got a suitable ground location left for it and then it would only see from about 19 E to 12 East at best. Ahh well. :(
