I was wondering this afternoon, would there be any way to re-use old analogue mobile phones using some sort of home made transceiver assembly connected to a landline (or maybe a GSM mobile)? It just seems to be a waste of technology in my view, jsut having those old phones sitting around doing nothing but gather dust...

Tha analogue frequencies were reallocated to the digital services so you would be interefering with, and be interefered by, them.

It's a non-goer I'm afraid.

I have no analogue phones or very much skill, but I'm willing to listen.... :D

I'm sure there was a seller at the local computer fair with some ol' bricks though, might be able to get a few there... :D
