Hi.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this question but I give it a shot.

I came across a CM 184 antenna without the subreflector. Does anyone know if it possible to buy a subreflector as spare and how much will it cost?

@ceedjay could you show the picture of antenna?
It is possible to use it without subreflector. I am not sure whether it is possible to get original CM subreflector, but you can always find dual-reflector Fibo dish and use it's sub on Channel Master.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Unless I’m mistaken, the same 1.8 mould is used on all CM dish designs, though a subreflector addition will assist with noise and cross pol issues .

Of course, same mould, just connections for feedarms are not directly to the mirror but the back-frame. Just wanted to make sure TS has that dish on hands and we speak about same CM.

Do you have any pictures of what you are after? If it is the feedhorn, bracket and the rest as posted by Channel Hopper I think I still have it all in the garage.

Hi -
Looking online here https://www.anistt.com/downloads/1.8m Channel master patriot.pdf it looks like the subreflector is the same one that is fitted to my 2.4 C.M. .... it would be interesting to try a fibo sub to see how it performed ... at 34 cm the Channel master sub is more or less 10 cm bigger than the fibo sub though ...

I agree that the dish will work very well without a subreflector once the correct l.n.b positioning has been found .. i made up some temporary arms last year - to original 2.4 non sub dish arm lengths - and used a normal Channel master l.n.b holder and inverto black ultra l.n.b ... results were very good overall ... i may make proper arms and return to make more detailed comparisons sometime in the future ..

Some time ago I was experimenting in fitting Fibo subs on 1.2m CM and also 1.8m Prodelin antennas. Results were quite OK I must say. Actually, I was using not only SUB, but also the feedarm and original Fibo feedhorn, in that way it was possible to minimize numbers of possible installation mistakes.
