They are looking at a 3 month minimum delay on any launches using the Fregat upper stage again now.

Controllers lose contact with new Angolan communications satellite – Spaceflight Now

A report published by Russia’s Tass news agency said engineers lost contact with Angosat 1 at the time it was supposed to extend its power-generating solar panels after separation from the Fregat upper stage.

The earlier stages of Tuesday’s countdown and launch appeared to go normally.

I cant find any tracking info for Angosat-1 yet but having a fully fuelled (seemingly) derelict craft on or very close to the orbital arc in the crowded European part of the arc must be a nightmare situation for the controllers of other sats.

Didn't they have this issue with Yamal 402? They used onboard boosters to get it up to correct altitude.

It certainly looks that way to me. There are still unanswered questions about the reason it lost comms - and the power sub systems must still be considered to be suspect

C-band - 3830 MHz
Ku-band - 10951 MHz
SCCS frequency:
Command receivers - 5741.525 and 5745.495 MHz
Telemetric transmitters - 3401.125 and 3404.125 MHz

There is a TLE finally: 43087, 2017-086A, now at 49°E drifting 3.2°/day, no inclination. Looks good!

This is the telemetry intercepted this morning (frequency 3404,10), it was in RHCP polarity, now I see it in LHCP.

The second telemetry is not active.
