technomate 6900,,and invacom 0.3 quad lnb

hi could anyone tell me if they have got a skystar 2 usb version,and answer my queries please
1 whats the quality like
2 is the motion smooth
3 does the usb version decode 4:2:2 feeds
4 and finally does the pvr side produce near dvd quality footage,

1. Same as PCI card, fine

2. Yes

3. Don't know - can you give more info?

4. See 1. Files are Mpeg2, & dependent on originator for bit rate, etc. Some sat' channels broadcast way below DVD quality.

thanx john the 4:2:2 is used by some feeds it looks like its encrypted but i think its higher quality video, i can see the 4:2:0 ratio feed clear but not the 4:2:2 ratio feeds thanx,check http://www.satelliweb.com/?section=livef
p.s. anyone else using this setup? and john where did you get the skystar usb and what price please

3) Think so, but can't remember for sure. Not used it for quite a while.

4) Agree with John. Totally dependant on what falls out of the sky.

I did have a problem on the Ki*sk channels on 1W, but no others. Not sure what it is with them, but many people struggle to get consistent results with other 'PCI' cards on Ki*sk too.

The significant difference you should note between the PCI version and the USB version is that AFAIK you can't get a DiSEqC 1.2 plugin for the USB Skystar2 - so don't go dreaming about driving dishes with it!

Ok, I'll go check that site.
