Guys,

I've got a 9100s which has been sat on a shelf for some time as it seems to be broken (I get the ---- on the display but nothing else). I think it needs a JTAG to get it going again but having looked at the documentation, I have no idea how to make the cable up.

What I am looking for is either:

a) someone to lend (or sell) me a cable
b) an idiots guide of what I need to buy to make my own cable up
c) someone who will let me send them my 9100 for an attempted repair

Would much prefer option A but open to offers or ideas.

Have you tried the usual holding the up key when switching it on and using the null modem cable?

I've found the TM9100 pretty much indestructable :D

Unfortunately I have tried that (and a number of variations such as keeping the OK key pressed) but nothing seems to generate any useful response (pressing any key changes the standby button from unilluminated to red). I'm using TCC6 and it never gets beyond "Ready". I'm pretty sure the cable I am using is good as I used it to flash a DM500 this week.

Any other suggestions welcomed!

Have you had it connected to the TV with a SCART lead when you have tried holding the up key when powering on.

The RF socket doesn't come on until the image has loaded so if its connected by the RF to the TV you ain't going to see much :-thumbup

Once in the loader menu, You then have to select serial update, then start TCC before hitting ok on the box.

If you still need a jtag cable have a look over at the following forum. Theres someone over there who will probably be able to help you :D

Code:
http://www.allsats.co.uk/

It used to be the TM9100 forum until they expanded to other receivers.

some good info in this zip file m8 hope it helps

setup the lead and software and parallel port
as in the pdf and read me of the software LTP1 mode normal 378

rename main exe to bootloader.exe

switch on your already connected via jtag box and

open a command window type "cd" and leave 1 space and then drag
bootloader.exe on to the command window

edit the text that appears and remove this off the end
"\bootloader.exe" and hit enter
now you will find your at the correct path

al you need do now is type " bootloader.exe 9600 "
and the program will start

All of my testing was via Scart but I dont get any signal coming through to the TV no matter what buttons are pressed or not.
