Advice Needed Application for cell phones, that shows the position of satellites superimposed over the camera's image.

Good evening gentlemen from Mullion Cove Cornwall.

Some time ago I saw an application for cell phones, that showed the position of satellites superimposed over the cameras image.

We have just acquired a Sony Xperia T3 from our daughter, not having bothered with a mobile before.

There is no signal in Mullion Cove, but it with the aid of a download from 3 our service provider, it connects to the cell phone network via our WI FI broadband.

I have had a look round the web, but cannot find the application.

The phone is an iPhone with the Android operating system.

Any suggestions much appreciated : )

Assuming it's the Sony with Android on it (and nothing to do with Apple or iPhones) then there are a few alternative apps. This one is probably the most well known,

You don't have to pay for a satellite finding app. I use one called Satfinder. Does for me.

Don't trust these augmented reality apps if reception is touch and go due to obstructions, you can of course use on to get a rough idea if there are suitable locations or gaps. The only sure way to finally check reception capability, is to use a dish and a meter to physically check. I used one of them once to get a rough mounting point for a dish and where it said it had a completely clear view, it was completely obscured.

I think there is also one from Norsat. Norsat Satellite Locator. I also use the satfinder one Paul mentioned by Maciej Grzegorczyk.

I have spent the day re-painting the SSS wall brackets, they would have been a lot better galvanised : )

Thank you all for the information, I have now installed four applications to evaluate.

SatFinder, Sat Finder, SatFinder Lite & Satellite Pointer.

All have their plus points, a mix of all three would have been good.

I could not fully evaluate all of them, as they wanted paying for to function 100%.

The Norsat Satellite Locator looked to have most things required, but I could not find a link that worked to download it on the phone.

I found one on the computer that required a barcode reader, so looked for a barcode reader for the phone, I expect there are some free ones but the one I found certainly was not : )

Uninstalled it fast.

I should be able to sort one out now, thank you all again.
