Just read the highly informative and slightly headache-making download from Aunt Jemima's Cookbook, where it says a typical CI CAM can work reliably with only 9 different providers or packages. And that a gold card can only handle around 7 providers' keys. Could this be the answer to problem I've just encountered?
For the best part of a year, on a supplied SMDS or surface mount card, I have been watching without problems in Mediaguard the following packages: Absat Astra, Absat Hotbird, Canal plus France, Canal plus Spain, Canal plus Netherlands, the Cinecinemas, Telepius, Kiosque PPV, Taquilla PPV, Palco PPV, Cyfra plus - in fact, everything in Mediaguard. The Cinestar package was added on Hotbird and worked fine, too . . . until this month.
Keys for Stream and the defunct Canalpro (testcard) have been added to what was about 9 providers, and it seems to have thrown a wobbly for the Cinestars. Stream package is working, but the Cinestars suddenly give a 'No access allowed' message with the new card. Put my old Seca card (which has no Stream or Canalpro keys) back in and it works straight away? On the CAM consultation menu, the new card had Absat and Cinestar somewhat puzzling linked. So one of the packages listed between Absat Astra and Cyfra Plus now reads "Absat Hotbird-Cinestar". Curious. Any answers, guys?
