This is taken from Space Daily where you can read the complete article

The Astra 1K satellite, which had blasted off from Baikonur at 4:04 local time (2304 GMT Monday), reached the basic orbit minutes after the launch, but so far failed to make any progress to its ultimate orbit, officials said.

That's the funniest story I have read this week - and its only Tuesday !!

But, 1K was to transmit decent and predominantly free stuff at the nice obital position of 19.2° anyway; so, maybe its not so funny afterall ?

The reports of 'its' failure are interesting. The Russians said the satellite failed and Astra reckon the Russians failed

Have Fun,

Mark.

Well it doesn't look quite as bleak as it did at first, they appear to have stabilised it at 290km, so that they can assess the situation.

Crumbs, it was only a couple of days ago that they thought it would be suitable for rescue. Oh well, never mind.
