My Satellite Setup
Sky dish using freesat using LG TV tuner.
My Location
Dublin, Ireland
Moved into a apartment. There's a sky dish on the balcony. Hooked it up to my new LG smart TV tuner without a set uo box for FREESAT, all the UK channels worked for 2 months or so. But it stopped working some weeks ago, maybe because of strong winds. So I spent hours trying to realign the dish at different alignemnts but keep receiving German channels, no UK channels exists. My single strength is strong and quality is moderate

What is wrong here? any help appreciated.

You have probably moved your dish east, to 19.2E, Astra 1, you want Astra 2, 28.2E.
Check the link below, to see if any of these channels are on your receiver:

And when it turns out you are, in fact, aimed at 19E:

For Dublin: 28E is 10.0 degrees to the left (seen from behind the dish),
and elevation of 28E is about 2.5 degrees lower than 19E.

Dishpointer.com may help you to find a direction in your 'landscape', where to aim.

BTW Welcome to this forum!

Yup your dish has swung round in the gales from 28E to 19E. 19E is strong enough that it probably doesnt have to be exact.

Reset the dish then crack the nuts down hard. Once you have everything set up mark the dish & mount with a sharpie or tippex or similar so you can rapidly reset if it moves in the future

Hi all, thank you for your feedback.

I kept getting german channels when the singal and quality was strong for 28.2e even though for 19.2e was 0% for both strength and quality.

Anyways i got it sorted. I got an old set-up box from my parents house and retuned it. Then broight it to my apartnebt and moved the dish to get the BBC picture which was so simple. Dish is secured and im able to get UK channels on my LG smartTV.

Thanks again

Glad you could solve it! :)

In that case the 'search frequency' for 28E in your TV was outdated, and obviously now in use at 19E.
But I don't know if or how you could change that in your LG.

The stored "Satellites" are no more than fully editable ( including their title) data sets. So you can scan a "Satellite" titled 28.2E but will nevertheless only get results from wherever your dish is physically aligned to - 19.2E in this case. And you'd get some Channels for the simple reason that Transponders on different Satellites often replicate similar frequencies and other parameters.
