I have an old 85cm mesh Channel Master dish and an older
Pace 2200 digibox. I have been reading about the lucky sods in Stockholm receiving channels from 2D. So far I have not managed to receive anything.
Please has anyone any tips or advice.

Thanks Andy

its true you can recieve it.. theres a flare in the horizontal of 2d in northern stockholm.. which means you should be able to pick it up ok.. im not sure about pace digiboxes tho.. are you picking up the other channels ok.. like channel 4 ,5 etc ?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I get Ch 4 and Ch 5 clearly, I`m probably going for a larger dish.

though i cant fault this as a good idea, it might be worth considering a panasonic tu-dsb30.. i live 160 km west of stockholm and didnt get a sniff of itv till i got one, with a 1 metre dish i get itv /bbc 24/7 except when it rains.

you can mail me if you like if you want more help

btw do you get tcm and parliament clearly ?

Yes I get BBC Parlament and TCM clearly, except on
rainy or windy days.

I am thinking about buying a Gilbertni 100 or 120 dish.

Of course as you hinted my Pace 2200 might not be
sensive enough leaving me with no option but to change it to something else.

Regards Andy

this is a good way to guage your signal quality btw.. the best signal in your area starts with
1. channel4,
then channel 5 and sky news,
then parliament and tcm,
then ITV,
then finally bbc channels which are the weakest

i believe as an intelligent guess this will happen if you upgrade to the 120 with your pace 2200:

you will get itv, broken or good in good weather,
and probably very poor bbc

if you get a panasonic dsb-30 and 120 i think you will get all the channels
including bbc, and probably none or very little loss in the worst of weathers. probably almost the same with a
100 dish.. look for a panasonic dsb-30 on ebay. ;)

if you're left with very little loss after this process the only way is increased dish size. bear in mind
that this advice is for recieving astra 2d horizontal stuff only. btw you wont
get astra 2d on vertical without a 2.4metre dish. but thats not a problem, only ITV2 and a bunch of bbc
regions are on vertical

cheers

My Satellite Setup
Gibertini 150 with an Inverto Black Ultra and a Pace 2600C1
My Location
Borlänge 200km WNW of Stockholm
Hi everybody
After spending 4 hours on a ladder I finally put up my 1,2m Channel Master dish near Borlänge (200 km WNW of Stockholm). The reciever is a Panasonic TU-DSB30.
Where I with a 1m dish could get horizontal trsp of 2D unless it rained to much they now goes in clear 24/7. I can now also get the vertical tsp. ITV2 is a little bit weaker than the other vertical trsp so I have even in good weather pixelation here. The other vertical trsp are fine.

Btw: Don't spend a lot of money on a 0,3dB LNB. The Invacom did not get any vertical trsp. The blue line AP8-T2 gave a better result.

Cheers

Finally I have installed a Gilbertini 1m dish, also an Interstar 0.3 LNB.

Still using my Pace 2200 and everything is working well.
Recieving BBC channels and ITV, BBC channels tend to pixelate and fade
during rainy weather.

Allegedly, the single-output is useless. Only the twin- and quad-output Invacom are any good. They have a better H & V separation or something.
