Huevos , you got it correct for me . Bottom of the black line in Murcia smack on the coast . Not a sausage on 1m , plenty of 11023 signal on 1.8. When did you do this map ?

Did it today. The contour lines are geometric, not just artistic, and I labeled them based on the reports so far.

So how is Gibraltar to be served ...................... ?

I don't know but if the reports from the Canaries are true reception should be possible below the black line. Anyway lets wait and see once the switch has happened and people start posting reports from south of the line.

Astra 2F is serving it a curveball. If all the BBC & ITV's are on 2F with the same strength as the BBC test sig then they'll lose out.
I'll probably test a 2m4 Andrews in Gib' during the next week, but I'm not expecting a good result.
There are HD versions of ITV 2,3 & 4 via Sky encryption from 2A North, but that's about all they'll get if all the 1N sigs are migrated to 2F.

Must agree there. Stuffed an attenuator inline and the Capital & Heart tp is one of the weakest here in the Midlands.

Strangely with a small 85cm dish and inverto black ultra, the heart and capital tp not great but better than some of the 1n transponders for me, I am never sure about non linear frequency responses of dish/lnb setups causing odd results but admit that anything 1GHz and using waveguide technology a mystery to me.

Gibraltarians don't need Spanish lessons, they're all bilingual. And anyway they've got terrestrial tv (GBC) with lots of material from BBC and ITV.

Here's a footprint forecast I made for Spain, based on reports so far. I know some of you are getting 11023H with smaller dishes, but probably with very little weather margin, and a lot of the transponders not yet migrated have much lower output than this one had.

We have done several tests today on 11023 around the Quesada area of the Costa Blanca south, and with Famaval 1metre HG and Inverto ultra we are seeing C/N of 6.6dB,stable pictures but not much fade margin ! Tests were also done on a 1.1M (cheap steel dish) with 6.4dB C/N with pixellation on video.

On what device? And who is we? 1m is on the limit there on that transponder, and will be worse on the band D transponders due to Badr 5 interference. Need to wait for the switch to see exact dish size but probably end up being 1.2m for a serious install.

Well it's confirmed here. A guy who lives in Guarda (Northeast Portugal) it's catching 11023h with a 1,30 primefocus antena Famaval made. He even posted photos of the catch on a portuguese forum.
Signal level 70% quality 30% with a TVPanasonic with sat in built tuner!
Remarkable. First catch and only one so far here in Portugal.

It's a pity not having exact signal readings from that location and comparing them with the 1N.
From the pictures we see 2F at 70% and 1N at 74% but we don't know how many dB is a % point....

Here in North West Spain I could show you screengrabs of 11023H picked up on my mis-matched Tagra 150cm PF dish and Inverto Black Ultra, but bear in mind that so far I only receive a proper image for a few minutes at a time around 0800, 1400, and 2300hrs GMT. Other times are unknown as I go out to work. My dish set-up is better than my separate offset Televés 120cm dish, but by how much I can't say. To sum up, my sporadic, but regular reception of 11023H is a long way from a level suitable for entertainment.

Guys, fringe reception is not an exact science. I've got a 90cm & a 110cm dish here and a couple of the transponders on 1N are almost equal on both dishes while others have 4dB difference.

I managed to tune in my friends 1.35M offset with 0.3db sharp LNB and compared it with my 1.9M prime focus C120 0.3 LNB

1.9M 90% strength & 90% quality
1.35M 80% strength & 60 - 70% quality I was getting a lot of signal bounce

Was the same tuner used on both antennas ? When you say signal bounce do you mean signal increasing decreasing ? 1.35 would be one of the smaller dish sizes Iveseen for Mucia

Signal jumps between 60% & 70% so probably 65% average.

Love the idea of the above - lorry loads of huge dishes migrating south in exchange for smaller dishes and cash migrating northwards. There must be a buiness opportunity there somewhere......
