As promised, now Open for use.

No Transition from 1N to 2F yet, but clearly it's imminent.

Speculation to remain in the existing Hot Thread, please.

Otherwise - carry on!

now 11896 V S100 Q20 (so it was local problem-sorry!)

Is that with the 3 metre?

EDIT: just saw the dish size under. That would be the MTV TP which is always pretty weak here on an 80cm mutlibracket dish. Locks fine though.

Hello

All new 2F transponders are okay here (30 km) south of Gothenburg with my 1.1m dish. The "software" I'm using don't report any SNR or reception quality so I don't know the signal strength. Will try to look on my spectrum analyzer later this evening...

Temp: -7.5 degC (almost clear sky...)

I have nothing here. Of course, it is UK beam and I do not have at least 3m antenna, only 1,5m.

I have finally got an idea of how bad the SNR goes on a 0.7x0.8m dish in Bergen.
(Inverto Ultra Black LNB + Humax Foxsat HD)
10964H goes down to 40% quality in the evening (clear sky).
-> The picture is pixelating, but not completely lost.

The threshold for DVB-S QPSK 22000 5/6 is close to 6.5dB.
I think worst case SNR is close to 6dB (40%)
- best case SNR might be close to 10dB (80%).

Reception at 18:30 CET:
10964H: 80% / 60%
10994H: 85% / 60%
11023H: 85% / 60%
11053H: 85% / 70%
11127V: 85% / 70%

The best SNR is + 20% to the values at 18:30.
But that doesn't help the prime time figures...

Reception at 20:45 CET:
10964H: 80% / 40%
10994H: 80% / 40%
11023H: 0% / 0%
11053H: 80% / 50%
11127V: 80% / 60%

Just read on a Finnish forum of a user who has got the reception of 2F on a good quality 2.4m Aerial Oy dish in Lappeenranta, near the border with Russia. Could be a sidelobe?

They managed to get all 5 transponders but some breakup. Strongest seem to be 11052H and 11126V. 11024H is one of the weakest and seems to disappear during the day.

Another report from near Paimio, in the South West near Turku reported reception on a Teleste 3m dish for all five transponders in the evening.

Very interesting - taking the nw-se axis as the datum thats just about 180 degrees opposite the Canaries!

Both plotted on the map :)

Oh yes... Mmm. Will have a look at my parents setup in the next couple of weeks but not really expecting anything on a 1.8m in Helsinki. Shame I don't have a meter as I suspect a receiver won't register anything of much interest...

That's a shame. Reckon there is no chance if me getting permission for a 4m dish. Certainly not from the neighbors.
However a work around is sky go. Downside is losing the ability to record everything.

Even the so called new 2F Pan-European beam could be difficult for those of us with smaller dishes in Finland soon. I find I'm using my UK registered iPad and a VPN account a lot more these days for UK TV viewing - at least we have decent internet speeds in most of Finland.
