I noticed it before. Google translation of Estonian language is poor. You have to use Your imagination and spells. Estonian language is not as easy as English. I hope in future someone can fix Google translator.

Google does a slightly better job translating Estonian into Russian but it still calls a dish a "saucepan".

For information 11023H is now confirmed working in Stockholm according to a report on the astra2 forum.

However its a 4.5m dish and doesnt have much bad weather capability!

Hello, 1st post, & thanks for a great forum.

Bergen, Norway. 80cm, 2F = nothing (day or night, any weather).

No big deal with the '5' channels gone, won't do anything until ITV \ BBC are closer to doing their move.

Hi 4wd!
It's not quite that bad in Bergen, your dish probably just needs some adjustment. It's possible to receive to 2F with an 80cm dish for most of the day with between 60 and 70% quality. However, the footprint's movement during the evening results in a strong loss of signal in the evenings (roughly between 6pm and 11pm) which is too great for an 80cm dish. There is one initial report of 90-100% signal quality in the evenings in Bergen using a 100cm dish and Inverto LNB so things look quite optimistic.

I'm surprised you're only showing 79% quality with your 80cm dish on the Astra 1N channels. I receive them quite easily with 100% quality on an 80cm dish, and 60-70% quality on a standard CanalDigital 53cm.

Hei, takk for god informasjon (thanks for good info).
So there is definitely hope here on the west coast.

My setup is nothing to brag about, dishes, lnb's, receivers, cables, all very old, some db's are surely lost here and there. Will very probably invest in a new, well dimensioned 28.2 system at the time of the BBC\ITV switch.

The 80cm may then serve as the replacement for my 50cm 19.2 dish. I think the current adjustment is quite good ...but some treetops have been growing steadily for many years :O) but as BBC\ITV\E4 reception is good enough under most weather conditions, no rush.

About the 2F signal (10964, 10994, 11023, 11053, 11127), yes, would have expected to see some stronger signal, something like 20 to 40%, have no explanation for it being near zero ('5'reception was good before the switch).
Will keep reading the forum here.

I live close to Borlänge (190 km WNW of Stockholm). My setup is Gibertini 150 with a 0,2 MTI High Line and a Pace 2600C1.
I can get a pixelated picture on channel 5, in good conditions the picture is stable.

I think though there is room for finetuning. After my previous LNB was struck by lightening I canged the LNB without adjusting it since 2N was just comming in to service and the signal was so strong that the guestimate of the skew was more than adequate.
I have bought an Inverto Black Ultra and I will have a go over the christmas holliday.

Seen that on the Astra2 forum. It's quite interesting and they also have the 1st null in approximately the same place as the online spotbeam generator (the one that is causing problems in northern Italy and northern Spain too)

This started out as a pencil drawing last Friday - and developed trough the weekend.
Adding Germany and Austria the last days is quite interesting...

I have no idea how deep the 1st null across Denmark and Norway is,
But 10dB SNR with an Andrew 4.5m in Wels (Austria) is quite scaring.

Have a look at the map from the German forum: Constaninmedia.com/sat/DishSizeMaps/astra-2f/UK-spotbeam.html.
Maybe zero/null have to be moved further east in the north of Germany/ Denmark and Norway with reference to the Hamburg - Lubeck area?

Regards
Ask

I have seen this map earlier.
The problem here is that it's difficult to get a feeling about the credibility of the data.

I need SNR, in dB or % relative to threshold, with time stamp.
I base my reports for Germany and Austria mainly on a huge thread on forum.digitalfernsehen.de
The footprint appears to be moving quite a lot - and not only limited to the variation each day.

Hi,

One Freesat fan 5km west of Tallinn, Estonia has 3M antenna.
Nothing from Astra2F UK beam.
2 Astra1N vertical transponders received at day time every day. At 8 a clock evening local time (+2 GMT) signal drops below threshold, good at morning again.

That's interesting as I was looking at my signal levels the other day on a 1.8m dish in east Helsinki and noticed 10778V was one of the stronger UK beam transponders. Of course I can't get a lock on such a small dish but the F15 receiver was seeing something flickering at about 1.5dB.

I also can't get anything from 2F's UK beams but again the receiver does seem to flicker a bit at around 0.5dB for a few transponders so it does look like its seeing something. 11024H seems one of the stronger but with such little signal it's hard to tell really.

I can however just about lock the European beam tests at 11009V (varies between 5 and 9dB throught day) and 11186V (varies between 4 and 7d:cool:. Signal seems strongest around midnight and early morning. All readings from a DR.HD F15 receiver with a quality Aerial Oy 1.8m dish and an Invacom QDF-031 quad LNB originally aligned for best Astra 2D reception.

Did You get something from Astra2D in past of course with this 1.8M antenna?
This fan who has 3M antenna received all channels from Astra2D.
I have 2.4M Aerial antenna and received only vertical from Astra2D.
Now I can't lock any freesat channel from Astra1N and 2F, just European beam OK.
