Do without the Astra 2D channels in that case.

You have problems then! Remember that the Astras are not designed to cover the Middle East. If you want to watch programmes off them you either

put up the sort of dish size you see at military installations for tracking rockets,
do without the channels and watch stuff of other satellitesthat do cover you or,
move to Europe......

is nice advice but it is received in some areas so well ,so it is not correct that it is not designed for middle east.

No - Im correct. :D Have al look at the official satellite footprints:

http://www.ses-astra.com/satellites/footprints.shtml

NONE of the Astras are designed to transmit anywhere near the Middle East. Most of the footprints dont even get as far as eastern Greece.

The fact you can get some signals off them in some areas of the Middle East is a happy accident of satellites doing better than they were designed.

Even southern Italy has got problems to get Premiere from Astra 1F. So Analoguesat is 100% right.

It might be of interest that you can get some particular frequencies with sizes above 1.80m at the Mediterranean coast but the bigger the better. To receive full 19.2E or 28.2E consider to upgrade to >>5m solid.

Forget Astra 3A 23.5E since this satellite is rapidly falling moving from North to South inside Greece.

Deepblue and Analogue are absolutley right. I have Sky in Amman-Jordan, recieved with a 1.80m dish. Witha 1.80m dish you can easily recieve sky one, most of the discoveries, most of the cartoons, channel five from 8:00p.m and up although not consistent. And yes the bigger the size of the dish might help a bit. You can forget recieving anything from Astra2d, as the pros in this forum have mentioned before, you will need something in the range of 7m for channel 4. As for the 3.60 dish, they are around and available in Dubai from sepatriot for around $2000 or more. For further info refer to robbiewright discussions about reception in Egypt which can five you an indicatoion as to what you might recieve.

Thats only speculation - no official footprint maps have been released for 1KR yet.

Its certainly NOT going to be restricted just to Spain - its got to replace 1C and 1B, so its got to have some pan European coverage.

6m !! My goodness. So do you know of any proven reception of the german Premiere package anywhere in Egypt ? The really hard frequencies are 11.720H/11.758H/11.798H/12.032H

By the way, in Athens Greece i've only heard of 4.50m that catch those above mentioned frequencies which are definitely the weakest digital transmitted of 19.2E. For full 24/7 D+ reception i think about 2.40m are needed, though some can be gotten with 1.20m.

Those 2 are the easiest on Astra 1H which we catch with 1.20m and even smaller dish if the weather is not too bad. 3.6m ? Where in Egypt are you, Cairo or more to the south ?
