Hello all. I have just installed a new TECHNOMATE 3000D FTA receiver box. I am trying to watch channel DAD 5 Fiber TX-12. I have perfect sound but no picture as it is saying "NO VIDEO/SCRAMBLED CHANNEL" I know the video is available as I had it on my other box. The VIDEO/AUDIO PIDs are 308 and 256. I have tried to scan with these in, but no luck.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what I can do? Thank you for any information.

As I recall, the DAD Channels vary between FTA and Scrambled in somewhat unpredictable fashion. I suspect you do not have a problem.

Hmm. Just checked and DAD5 is aok here on a basic SL65 FTA box.

I'll keep an eye on it for a few minutes.

Thank you for the info. I am sure that the TECHNOMATE is just not finding the video for some reason. Could it be it is less sensitive than the other box I was using (GBSAT 2CI 0) ? Whenever I try to rescan it just comes up as though it has already found it, but is there some way of making the box think it is another setting and storing it separately? On my old box I could have the same setting on 5 or 6 different channels and only 1 would show video and audio.

It's clear and showing TodayShow.

The PIDs are the same as you report.

Frequency 11528 and SR 3195.

I'm sure your Technomate can cope with that SR.

I suggest you delete any stored versions of that Channel and then re-scan.

I also suggest you reboot your TM.

I just deleted the channels, rebooted and rescanned and still just audio. Can you suggest anything else I could try please? Do you have to put in the PIDs? Should it find it without me putting the PIDs? Thanks for your help.

PIDs should be automatic.

Can't think what the problem might be - wait and see if anyone else can suggest anything.

Can't suggest anything more, but I'm getting the same as the OP, audio but no video.

Queerious.

I'll pop upstairs to the spare stack of receivers in summertime mission control and see if my Kaon gets it ok or not.

No, still nothing despite confirming PIDS. However, I seem to have lost audio as well now. I've noticed MSNBC is very close to the other TP (11532H, SR 3200 and exactly the same PIDS) I'm getting that fine. Must confess this is beyond my ken!!

I am totally stumped. I think it must be the receiver box. The fact that some boxes get video and some not despite us all putting the same co-ordinates in is totally baffling. If I get a new box, can you suggest a good FTA one? Only got this one yesterday so not happy at all.

You might have hit the nail there old fruit: I did see the nominal frequency difference but dismissed it as being within tolerance - didn't check listings.

I selected label DAD5 on my stored list, shown as 11528 MHz and got CNBC showing.

I scanned 11531 and the label came up as CNBC.

So I think I have misled myself - and others.

Looking at Flysat, it seems the lower freq. is a CNBC Feed and the higher one is CNBC proper.

I am truly confused.

To add more confusion, KingofSat shows the higher frequency one as a Feed and the lower one as being an NBC SatOps provided channel labelled DAD 5 ...... as I originally reported!!

Either way, PIDS, SR are indeed the same.

Frankly, I find the concept of two apparently identical transmissions being only 3MHz apart to be bizarre. Shirley they must be one and the same transmission?

So, (he said peering through the fog) are CNBC and MSNBC one and the same? I.E. are they showing the same programming? This couldn't be a NTSC/PAL issue could it?

The one you were watching earlier when you said the Today show was on is correct. There are 3 active transponders for the NBC material. DAD 4 fiber tx-11 and MSNBC are currently showing the same. DAD 5 fiber tx -12 is the one I can't get and you can. They are close together, but you were definitely watching the one we can't get if the Today show was on. Could it be the quality of receiver box? I thought Technomate was a very good machine?

Just my two penneth, are you deleting the channels before re-scanning or just re-scanning as I have known the latter to cause problems with other stb's

CNBC and MSNBC are different channels, but these transponders often show programming from both. PAL/NTSC isn't a problem. I did delete all the channels before the rescan. I will try that again, but fear the same. If anyone out there knows what else I should do please post.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
