Hi!
As i expand my knowledge in this new hobby, i'm faced with new questions every day.
My new question is about the abbility, of my 5620, to capture keys. It's all about autoroll, right?
Does anyone have some pointers, or give some light on the subject?
TG, you, by any chance, don't have a level 2 guide? Pocket size? :D

Autoroll sort of means auto update (...of keys when they change).

T_G's guide contains some info I think.

Polsat on 13E for example change their keys daily, but some software can deduce the new key from the stream based on the information that was used to extract the keys in the first place. Newcamd can do this for example. Usually the new (plain) key is stored alongside the original key you started with (or in a similar file).

I don't know exactly how it works, as I suspect it would take some rather deep understanding of the underlying encryption system, which I'm not really into.

I wish there was a level 2 Guide for the advanced, I think you will write most of it as my well of dreambox wisdom is pretty empty :) . Actually I have more questions myself now that I managed to get to the level of being able to watch those stations that are possible. O-Ha

Regarding the autoupdate: I did come across splinters of information in a German site, but I think the answer that you got from Stick is more or less what I understand as well. It does seem to be a perticular problem with Polsat. If something pops up, I will let you know.

You can always use the AU utility if suddenly a station does not work anymore.
