I have a Tecnomate 1600 2CI and 80 cm motorized dish.
All been working great until this recent bad weather.
Now I cannot get any signal form the dish until later in the day when the sun (if any)
gets to the dish, then the signal is weak.
Any ideas?

My Satellite Setup
80cm Motorised.
Several small Dishes.
Much else.
My Location
North York Moors
No location given so I shall assume UK.

I shall further assume it has been snowing copiously over the past few days.

You most likely have snow/ice built up on the LNB arm and possibly a nice coat of ice on the LNB cap.

It needs to be removed .............. gentle brushing/warm water ......

Also, your Motor may be reluctant to move - quite a few of us have had that problem.

Could be faulty LNB, dish not aligned properly, bad connection, or possibly poor line of sight.

Thanks for your replies.
Dish is locked on to 28.2 o.k.
Brand new Tecnomate LNB fitted 2 weeks ago and worked perfectly until this bad weather (South Wales).
Can't get to the dish at the moment to check for ice build up as it is to dangerous to go onto the garage roof because of all the frozen snow.
Looks like I will have to wait until the thaw!.
Thanks to all.

Is the dish solid or mesh?

If you can throw a bucket of warm water at the dish to shift the snow(thats what I used to do).

My Satellite Setup
motorized Gibertini 85cm, fixed dishes from 1m to 64cm, generic FTA HD RX, TBS DVB-S2 PC card, a pile of bits and pieces
My Location
Hadrians Wall
Analoguesat suggested a

Waterblaster

in a different post. With a 60ft range it could hit the dish with warm water, even though it is on top of the garage. A few good blasts then you would be able to go inside and watch the box again!

Much too high for me to do that.
Checked with binoculars and yes there is ice all over the lnb.
A thaw is due soon so I will have to wait.
Thanks for all the suggestions:-thumbup:-thumbup:-thumbup:-thumbup

There is bound to be a few more cold and icy periods this winter and all the winters the future.

Perhaps you should invest in a Waterblaster and get some practice in, so you will be ready the next time?

Later in the year I intend to move the dish lower down the side of the house so that it is easier to get to.
Then I won't have to go climbing up ladders and on to sloping garage roofs.
