Baker's 'titties' fly off the shelves

A German bakery chain is selling round, pointed pastries called titties.

The shop in Friedberg, near Frankfurt, has posters of a pin-up girl advertising them at 36p each.

In one day alone it sold over 13,000 titties.

But the city's women's representative, Margot Bernd, said a number of women called her to vent their "anger and outrage" at the offer.

The head of the local district authority, Rolf Gnadl, has also called for titties to be renamed.

But Kai Steinhauer, junior manager of the store chain, says titties are here to stay.

He told the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper: "When we were coming up with this pastry and first baked it, one of our female employees suggested the name."

Strange, isn't it, that the number of titties sold isn't an odd one.

Reassuring to know that even the Germans appreciate a good and true (even) pair of titties.

"I'd like to have two of your nice titties, please." In Berlin, you'd probably get punched in the face for saying that; even if they could ever bring themselves to selling such fallacious pastries.

People in Essen are so much more forgiving, okay, naive.

Have Fun,

Mark.

I think a moist oatcake wedged between two of these delicacies would just about hit the spot......:)
