We had our first barbecue yesterday. Did not take picture, but there were some sausages on the grill. :)

Windy, ain't it - can't remember so much wind noise around the house for a long time - woke up earlier and the noise helped me to huddle down and go back to sleep (needed that after 2 nights when I didn't sleep that much)

What's it like where you are (and does your house still have the roof on!)?

Wet, with a capital "W".

Fields sodden, ditches overflowing and enormous poodles in the lanes.

Windy this morning, was a fairly steady F10 an hour or two ago but from the west which is unusual., it made for some interesting noises as various dormer tiles flapped about and the 1.2 wobbled on its pole. My main radio mast is tilted over and tethered in the garden so that's safe.

I'd hope the roof is still on considering how much it cost to replace....anyway, very windy here but sunny too.....

A couple of branches down at the other end of the village, and a tree in our front garden is making some decidedly unhealthy noises, I had started lopping bits off in December as it was interfering with the phone lines to next door, so it might need cutting completely.

Drove down from Newcastle Upon Tyne yesterday afternoon through snow and ice, hail and rain and even lightening, we were held up for a while when a Sunday afternoon driver dare not go downhill in the snow. FFS they should make it compulsory for every driver to have inclement weather training as opposed to multiple choice theory tests. My 34 year old son after living in London for 13 years and not needing a driving license decided to learn to drive and passed his test 2nd attempt, but when I was down there last he was incapable of travelling anywhere without a satnav and followed it implicitly even when it guided him to a dead end.

Totally agree with the sentiments, especially regarding sat-navs, as once "one" gets lost using one of those, then who knows where the hell "one" will end up - happened to SWMBO a couple of years ago when she drove down to see her son in Reigate, and then got lost coming home, and thus, instead of driving 5 miles by the backroads to J8 on the M25 and then driving West up to J15, finished up on the M23 (towards Gatwick) and it then took her a good hour or more extra to find her way home:rolleyes:.

We had one very large flash of lightning on Sunday evening as the storm passed over.

Talking of which the wind has just picked up for the next batch of bad weather.

Still very windy almost everywhere in the UK & NI - has anyone actually had "important" stuff come down &/or blow away?

Just a couple of old fence panels broke, but I was already planning to replace them, with sturdier ones, and had them in the garage.

Wind has quietened down a bit now - no damage except 3 tall purple sprouting brocolli had fallen over, so tied them up and cut some for Sunday lunch! :D

Then managed to cut the small lawn with the mower so I can put down some moss killer in a few days time after it has hopefully stayed dry.

Snowed here too, rain washed it all away, now it's just drizzly & gusty, with wheelie bins trying to run away again...

Here in the Lake District the rain has stopped but it's blowing a hooligan.

But we had a nice drive across via Irton to Saltcoats, then to Ravenglass to look at La'l Ratty and the R&ER Museum, before returning alongside a turbulent and flooding River Esk just now for lunch and an afternoon by the fireside.
