There are severe weather warnings in place for much of northern & western Britain for the next couple of days - for heavy rain and gale force winds. The map is the met office warning of areas likely to be affected for Thursday/Friday

Fingers crossed the recent roof repairs hold up, BBC NWT has said it'll be rough, so, here's hoping...

Any dishes on tyres should be brought indoors I think... :D

I lost all but the strongest of channels on Tuesday. After braving the elements and going up the ladder in the wind and rain, I found that the pole had turned in the TK bracket. I realigned it and made sure the bolts were done up tighter. So far it has held up.

Lord I hate wind!!!

Up to 10 inches of rain forecast for some of the Cumbria fells!

Wet and miserable here in the Borders - the school playing field is rapidly waterlogging, but no really heavy stuff (yet)

The slate cladding has been rattling on the loft extensions all night, like a chinese no sleep torture, no sign of it calming down either.

Fields flooded all over the place. It is the alluvial clay from the ice age that was deposited in these valleys when they were formed by that big glacier how ever many millennia ago that keeps the water above ground level.

Well, it's dry round here, but the wind is still trying to batter things, there's a tree nearby that's still in full leaf, that's getting pounded!!! All the other trees (mostly Sycamores) are bare, so are just roaring in the wind, what a sound (even through DG windows!!)!!!

Lets just hope that none of our members have bodged their setups otherwise they could look like the one below :D

This what happens when you bodge an install :( It lasted just under a week before it came down in last week ends gales

And yes it was fun getting it down without causing anymore damage :-doh2

It was only a BT cable that stopped it hitting the deck completely :-lmao

It was later fitted properly and will more than likely last at least 10 years now :D

:-beer

Me too. and 22 degrees :)
Lovely today while 5 floors up transferring a 2.7m dish from the roof to the top of the lift shaft. No walls around us just a straight edge. You lose your fear when sit under the dish and look at the view of the coast and mountains.

Francis Wilson the Sky news weatherman just said the British 24hr rainfall record will probably be beaten in Cumbria today - (currently 279mm / 11.1 inches!!)
