Im wondering where all this rain is we are supposed to be having - Ive spent the morning replacing one of the cable runs down the garden - due to the length and the fastenings to the fence line I decided to cut it out a bit of a time.

Second cut- water dribbled out of it :-doh!

No wonder I had various frequencies missing on the Duo. :-rofl2

Even with a thin section of window coax and an A/B switch in circuit the new cabling is working better than the old system

So how did it get in?

I feel sure all your connections are sealed or booted and that there are nice neat drip loops where needed ..........

(But the cynic in me has an awful feeling that "rat's nest" might be the order of the day! :-wave )

Best guess - a badly sealed join in it, or maybe even through the cover - it was very low grade coax dating back to when I was flat broke and everything had to be done as cheaply as possible.

Great value for money (or lack of it!) though ................. I'm like you, using what I've got unless it proves futile.

I slung up a small Yagi in what thought would be a vain attempt to get Freeview after Pontop Pike DSO and my lash-up gets 96 Channels with only one marginal Mux >>>>> this morning, my neighbour, who has an enormous Yagi on a massive pole, was complaining he still couldn't get Dave.

I checked for him, including a rescan, and he only gets 56 Channels on his "Professionally Installed" rig.!

Tivu, time to show the neighbour how it's really done? Maybe swap your little Yagi for his?

No, I just got the ladder out, terminated the coax properly and tweaked the alignment.

He is now "with Dave".

More pertinent, it's getting very windy indeed now, albeit mild. Not sure if the heavy rain is likely to hit here, but I've been out and done a good deal of "winterisation" outside in the garden.

The rain has arrived here in the last hour or so. Glad it held off whilst I was running the coax earlier. Signals much improved - except on 9E where Im still missing several DVB-S2 muxes.

Diyala - 11487V - S/R 2199 - 11.8db
Al Rai - 11531V - S/R 2856 - 11.8db
Yemen Today - 11600V - S/R 2169 - 13.6db
Alabasiy Alhadath - 11656V - S/R 2849 - 11.6db

Well if you were to associate your success with mention of theories of beneficial Winter-aided propagation, all will be well :-annoy

Extremely windy here. Just watching some roofers building a monstrous loft extension on the house opposite. There goes the neighbourhood.

Now trying to cover their work with a tarpaulin. All over the place.

My lawnmower expired a couple of weeks ago.

You'd have thought now would be a good time to get a new one CHEAP >>>>>> but there's no stock.
