I was lucky enough to answer a post on a local site about disposing of a wood stove. I did not expect something quite like this though

http://www.contura.se/documents/contura/se/iav/old/iav_contura_350_se.pdf

I eventually swopped it for a second TV feed from the roof as I thought it was too good to take for nothing.

Not enough time to install it before winter, but it's certainly going in before the end of summer.

Unusual combination of light flooding and temperatures barely exceeding zero over the past week render some interesting hedgerow art. :)

LOL nope, but did see an Avocet today, flew off before I could affix the camera to the scope though, must make a better and easier bracket. :).

Lucky man - saw Avocets on the French coast where the Charente joins the Atlantic.

But we have got our Curlews back, plus a few Lapwing.

We also got a Buzzard released from a Corvid trap up on the Moors a couple of weeks ago.

First couple of photos with the new camera on scope, a very grey misty day at 160m of a couple of Oystercatchers, looking forward to better weather.

Actually you might be OK with staying in your birthday suit, at least in about five days time

From Discovery Geographic

A Romanian meteorologist has predicted a major change in the weather patterns that currently lock Northern Europe in a pattern of freezing conditions for almost seven weeks. Professor Munz Weneczshenko, head of Department of Alpine Climate in Leitha, and Carpathian manager of hay delivery and general tractor movement at Brasov, has reported that a two pronged westerly jet stream movement should pass the current anti-cyclone sitting above Scandinavia on both sides disrupting its influence, pulling warm Atlantic air up from the Canary Islands, forcing a sudden but welcome change in time for the mid-April church festivities in the area.

'It's about time we had something good to report' Professor Wenezchenko says, 'besides we had almost run out of heavy oil that we soak our bricks for the department heating. My wife complained when I brought in the goats and donkey from the barn and the smaller animals held in the two sheds at the bottom of the garden, but if I am honest, the chickens would now be fed up in the house. I am happy to commute the 500kms each day to my place of work just to get away from the noise, (and this was before I brought the livestock in). Unfortunately the train services wouldn't allow me to bring more than just my favourite goat into work.
