Oh I _do_ love a good surfeit..
I get out me surf board and wait for the deluge ..then surfeit all the way to work.
Frogs on ... other hand ...or in the garden....icky icky spawny little sods..

I hates it when you roll out your wheelie bin ..only to find one has been making it's home underneath ..and is now decidedly flatter than when it went under

Well as we opened last year's Winter Topic on 8 Oct, the much-vaunted (but Evidentially Sparse) Global-Warming has kicked in!

Some pretty grim things happening on land as well buddy..
British Gas just hiked their prices around 10% starting November..
Looks like another 3 to 4 months of going to bed early with a hot water bottle ..
If you have any questions for me ..get em in early ..as I shall try my hand at Hibernation this year.

On the other hand, my Heating Oil is 10% cheaper this year than last.

It's still staying OFF, though, unless the wittering from SWMBO gets too much.

..The way I see it ..energy companies use 'the need to pay for green technology' as just one of their reasons for upping prices continually..
This is an attempt at reducing carbon emissions and thus get global warming under control..
In 10 days I'll be 57 ..and global warming wont affect me when I'm dead ..
I'm paying for the privilege of stopping the planet warming up ...when that's just what I need..
Warmer winters so I can thumb my nose at the grabbing bastards.
I say ...let it warm up ..
I have no kids ..no legacy in that regard ..
Sounds selfish ..but then I am fast becoming a grumpy old man with MS who feels the cold of winter..

If you emigrated somewhere warmer just think of the fun you could have chasing sats from a totally new location :)

Funny you should say that.

Some thirty years ago I was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. I was working in fairly stressful job at the time; well paid but lots of hassle. One of my co-directors had already had time off with a nervous breakdown and I used to say that I left the job at the gates when I went home as I had no desire to go the same way. But I obviously wasn't able to do this as I used to come down with bronchitis attacks three of four times a year.

I asked the doctor if there was anything I could do and he said to move somewhere warmer. So on doctor's advice (!) we bought the house in France, intending to move there as soon as possible but definitely by retirement time.

Well it didn't work out that way and we're still here in Blighty but we still have our pied-a-terre in France. In fact I'm off there this evening. Apparently the weather down there is quite mild and not raining...

I've been out Oiling my Garden Bench and generally tidying the Garden as it's bright, sunny and 16C, with several more mild days to come, apparently.

Nice.

Unfortunately Global Warming is likely to have the opposite effect on the climate in North Western Europe as the warming is extremely likely to disrupt the Gulf Stream with melt water from the polar cap and lead to a decrease in temperature here

Good thing I'm not with BG, and locked into a pre-hike price deal with Ovo Energy... :D

Well, once EDF releases this house from it's grip... :-doh
