Dear Analoguesat,

I am trying to receive FilmFour+1 new frequency (12480V-Astra 2A) on my FTA box without any success. The only channel I receive is the Quiz call. Do you know why this is happening ?

Cheers,

Digi

No idea - it was working last night. Its always possible its ceased again of course. Seeing as it doesnt have any audio on it, its hardly worth bothering with!

Cheers AG,

Alway providing us with prompt and accurate replies !

My Fta box has so far shown good behavior with respect to the reception of bbc interactive streams as well as of ITVi, so I hope I won't have a problem with Film4 as well.

I will check again later in the evening.

Do you think that this is the new tp that channel 4 has announced earlier in the year ? Any chance of seeing More 4 moving there as well ?

FF +1 is still operating - Ive just been to have a look on my fta box. Its flagged as encrypted so make sure you arent just scanning for fta channels!

It worked ! Cheers Analoguesat !

Do you know what is the purpose of showing FilmFour fta without any sound ? Are the filmfours that are transmitted from 2D fta, cause I have read somewhere that at some point they would become fta ?

FF & FF+1 will be going clear in July. Now - whether this means fully fta or ftv is a bit up in the air - the press releases Ive seen are a bit contradictory. And after the More4 debacle I wont believe its actually fta until I see it for myself. :D

FF Weekly will be closed.

Its just an engineering test so anything can and does happen

QUOTE
SES ASTRA Secures Channel 4 Contract For Additional Transponder
Channel 4 to use third satellite transponder on ASTRA 2A
New programs include Quiz Call and More4+1.

The new channels include the recently launched Quiz Call and More4+1, which is scheduled for launch today. Quiz Call is devoted to quiz and game-show programming that gives viewers the chance to compete for cash prizes. More4+1 will offer a blend of documentaries, films, drama, current affairs and a daily news program, and may include a late-night studio discussion show
UNQUOTE

I think that based on the above statement plus the fact that there is a promotional video of More 4 playing from 12480V, all of us living outside the 2D footprint will pretty soon able to enjoy More 4 programming ! ! !

Let's hope that I am correct !!!

Theres much speculation over on the DS forum that what is currently the More 4 promo will only turn out to be the Big Brother 7 seperate live feed.

Apparently the More 4 test stream "12005" is also playing out on the BB7 web stream, so I think we can confidently predict "12005" is the BB7 stream
