your dish must be a good place to fry your barbie now that the weather is heating up

or maybe a good sun shade

It does make a good >>> sun shade :D :D

Now...seriously talking.Does anyone have any news or official announcement for this premature move?
It is very unusual from BBC to move like this.
I have a feeling they might be back for some time more before they switch for good.

just got the wife to check the channels are still on 2a and doing a manual add channels brings them up

unfortunately when you try to select one of them to view only get a no signal message presumably the digi-box software is preventing viewing other than the default transponder

any way round this?

the writing is on the wall but it would be nice to get a few more days to tape ceebies for my little girl

Is the 10773 transponder stronger in the South than the North? I'm in Denmark and can get a lock on most 2D frequencies - not always a perfect picture - but 10773 just won't lock despite the signal strength and quality seeming to be the same as the others. Or can it be that the LNB has problems with this particular frequency?

I'm in Malta too - the beeb has gone yes, I have BBC 2 for NI Wales and Scotland but I hear that it's not for long - they're at the 960 and above channels.

So I guess it's back to PBS, NET TV, Super 1, and.. omigod, Smash TV for us, rahal!

Yeap , I've now lost BBC Scotland 1 & 2 (101/102) this morning . Mind you at least they waited until the Celtic Porto game finished before switching to 2D . Although now I think about it I wish they hadn't ....:(

Can Iceman please give more info on what is available on his 4.2M dish in Cyprus - and some idea of how much physical shading of the dish is needed to loose BBC1
I have a 1.8 prime focus dish with an Invacom 0.3 LNB and a DSB30 at 32.10N and 34.51E (Israel).
Up to 2 days ago, on a clear sky day, I could get BBC1 and BBC2 here with only a 3 hour gap in the afternoon (the Invacom improved the previous 6 hour gap with a Genesis !)
Now nothing from the BBC - except Parliament.

Hi Maxi 1

33 km north of Copenhagen. 1.5m prime focus dish. See my earlier reports in the 2D reception thread.

Hi gcohen
I can receive ALL horizontal transponders on 2D 24 hours a day but zero signal on verticals.
Sorry i did not understand second part of your question, please clarify.

So i hear M8.....so i hear.. :(
I reckon you will have to upgrade to at least 3.5m in Paphos for 2D.

Thanks for you reply.
What I was getting at in the second part of my question is that I would like to get some sort of handle on how near your system is to threshold on BBC1. For example I would loose BBC1 if I just shadded part of the rim of my 1.8 dish with my hand !

Hi Geoffrey
I can stand inside the dish with my sat meter to do LNB skew & not loose the lock.
