BBC switches on 10 new DAB transmitters

Ten new DAB Digital Radio transmitting stations were switched on by the BBC during August and September.

The corporation says the new transmitters will allow 2.4m people more to receive DAB services, with nearly two million more obtaining "improved signal."

The new DAB transmitters activated during this phase of the BBC's digital radio rollout programme include Heathfield, Idle, Piccadilly Plaza, Naish Hill, Manningtree, Rowridge, Dover, Bromsgrove, Sailsbury, and Bath.
