Would only be of much use on Astra 28 east (the Sky satellite).
There are some free-to-air channels in English from it, weather it is worth bothering with is something you will have to decide.

You could sell them on eBay and get a few bottles with the money (and give one to whoever gave you the equipment ;) )

But that’s not really good advice to give on a satellite forum, perhaps more fun (well in the long run anyway) would be to set the dish up somewhere convenient and have a play around.

Put the dish somewhere with easy access and where you can see a TV from (even on a fence/shed or 2x4 in the garden if you don’t want to make holes in the walls of you house) and find some satellites, there are alignment guides around here and you should find some more on google.

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/europe.html has satellite listings, start with 28.2e (the satellites sky uk use) – that has a couple of FTA music channels and BBC3/4 along with some other stuff to get you going. 19.2e should work on that dish and if you are lucky and it’s a good day then you should get something from 13e also. on those lists the only channels you will be able to receive are the yellow ones with a symbol rate of 27500 or 22000 and the digibox has a useable maximum of about 35 added channels.

If you find that fun then you will soon be wanting a 'proper' digital receiver (even just a proper FTA one) or a satellite PC card. That’s when you should sell the digibox on eBay...

@ bronson, according to blackninja,( see Multi-Sat Systems - Hotbird ) he can get over 100 free-to-air channels with his 45cm dish from Hotbird.
Certainly surprised me.
