Hi Guys

I am using Panda anti Virus and Firewall 2007, but this one does not have an anti spam program. I would like to find out which is the best one to use.
So please post some suggestions for free programs and also ones that need a license.

Cheers! :-fcm

How about going with a decent ISP? I haven't had ANY spam in years.

BTW I'm with Virgin.Net.

I use Cloudmark antispam software, sends everything dubious to a separate folder, you can add or remove senders from the spam list and it gets latest information from its own database.

Used to use Mailwasher Pro, but didn't like the way you could accidentally delete Emails which were not spam.

I don't trust my ISP to let through what I need, I would rather make that decision on my computer. :)

As with most security programs, don't skimp on them, they are worth paying for.

Difficult to say as one cannot disprove a negative but all I can say is that no-one has ever contacted me to say that they've sent me an email that I haven't received. Similarly, I can't recall any email that I was expecting to have failed to come through (ignoring dilatory repliers that is).

This compares with an account I have with Tiscali France which gets several items a day. As I only look at the account every couple of months or so it can be quite a job clearing it out!

Anyway, I'm happy.

If you are picking up your mail regularly using an email program on your PC - why not make the switch to Thunderbird from Mozilla ??

The local spam protection is intuitive and learning; albeit, it requires some user input [read: treat this post as spam]. You have full control over what to do with spam.

On my PC, I have other protection further up the pipe (Norton Antivirus Auto-Protect/Worm Protect) which scans incoming/outgoing mail for nasties - and on the fly.
